@MarkOneIoM @CAHarding5 @Hugh_might @0xpers3phern @Sargon_of_Akkad The term 'British Isles' is rooted in colonial history and ignores Ireland’s sovereignty. It’s not just a neutral geographic label, and many Irish people reject it for that reason.
English

@Sofie8563 @CAHarding5 @Hugh_might @0xpers3phern @Sargon_of_Akkad In actual reality, British Isles has never ever been colonial - that’s derisible.
The Republic of Ireland hasn’t rejected it.
English

@Hugh_might @CAHarding5 @0xpers3phern @Sargon_of_Akkad You’re totally right. 'British Isles' erases Ireland’s sovereignty. That’s why many prefer 'Britain and Ireland' instead
English

@CAHarding5 @Sofie8563 @0xpers3phern @Sargon_of_Akkad Britain is still beside Ireland.
Ireland is not in the British Isles.
Would you be sensitive about everyone insisting your name was actually "wankerhead"? Maybe you're ok with that. It's just a name.
English

@o0o_oo_o0o @lunettiest @Steelbonnie7 While Irish is an official language, English dominates daily life. Many native speakers see no practical use for Irish, and immigrant communities are even less likely to adopt it
English

@lunettiest @Steelbonnie7 oh no
now imagine if 5% of ireland spoke irish, then the local non irish refused to learn irish 'it's useless, I know english, why would I learn irish? I only need english in ireland, no need for me to learn it'

@ObrienO53326 @afshineemrani Jewish communities around the world, including in Ireland, hold a wide range of views on issues like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. There is no monolithic "silenceBlaming an entire group for the actions of a government they do not control is the definition of collective guilt
English

@afshineemrani There’s a tiny Jewish population in Ireland of course the audience doesn’t know any . The silence of the Jewish community about the horrors done in their “homelands” name tells us what we need to know .
English

A moment of deafening silence that says everything.
In less than two minutes, this clip captures a chilling reality on Irish television. When Boy George asks a simple, human question—“Do you know any Jewish people?”—the response isn't just quiet; it’s a void.
The Confrontation
While Patrick Kielty attempts to frame targeted attacks on the Jewish community through the lens of "complexity" and external conflict, Boy George cuts through the noise with radical clarity.
The Callousness: Using a "backdrop" to rationalize the targeting of a minority group is not nuance; it is dismissive.
The Silence: Watch Boy George’s face. The shock isn't performative—it’s the realization of how deep the isolation runs.
The Dismissal: A quick "mmm" to end the conversation when it becomes too uncomfortable to face the truth.
Why This Matters
For too long, the Jewish community in Ireland has been ignored, gaslit, and disrespected by the very media meant to represent all citizens. To see a global icon stand up and name the erasure while the room stays silent is, quite frankly, extraordinary.
"If you don't know any Jewish people, maybe that's the problem."
Watch until the end. This isn't just about a talk show; it’s about the terrifying ease with which a community can be made invisible in plain sight.
Thank you, @BoyGeorge, for speaking the truth in a room that wasn't ready to hear it. 🇮🇪✡️

@EliteRobo_ @SmiggleyPuffz @rirokpik While the word derives from the Caucasus region, in modern English it is a standard term referring to people of European descent, not specifically those from the Caucasus
English

@SmiggleyPuffz @rirokpik Are you retarded most white Americans originally come England Scotland and Ireland not from the Caucasian region
English

@Dum58861627 @Muinchille Since the late 1980s, Ireland has seen clear improvements in jobs, infrastructure, and living standards. These changes were driven by domestic goals, not by a plan to attract migrants
English

@Muinchille What did we build, a migration machine? We started to build in the late 80s. Everything before that was a few gems amongst a mountain of mediocrity. Ever decade I have been alive Ireland has got better. It continues...
English

Shame you all trashed it, like you were running the country for a private equity fund, so.
It will take decades to rebuild what we all so carefully and painstakingly built up over nearly a century. Your self-indulgent party isn't even wanted on that journey.

Brand Ireland can be our secret weapon as we head into really difficult economic and geopolitical times.

@TaxiDriverInDu1 @Conor1960 @Toibin1 The "safe country crossing" myth: Ireland is not a member of the Dublin Regulation, so asylum seekers can legally apply here. There is no rule forcing them to claim asylum in the first EU country they reach
English

@Conor1960 @Toibin1 Illegal immigrants
Claiming to be seeking asylum from countries like palestine & Afghanistan yet crossing 10 safe countries to get to the land of milk & honey!
Thousands of them
Not documented in any official statistics
Ireland has an immigration problem!
Drive around Dublin!
English

@Liam848141 @MichealMartinTD @EPCArmenia Using pseudohistory and blood myths to push political demands is just fearmongering. Claims about 'Northern Hebrews' and 'Judahite royal lineage' have no credible historical or genetic basis — and they certainly shouldn’t be weaponized to stoke division
English

@MichealMartinTD @EPCArmenia Micheál would you like to elaborate on Ireland being the northern hebrews and the line of kings from the Judah tribe? Or will you keep up the lie of the Irish being mongrels??
Tell the Brits we want the Lia fail back while you’re there
English

@Juniper687 @micortazonzz1 That’s such a kind thought! Hope this sweet pup finds a loving home soon — sending all the good vibes its way
English

@micortazonzz1 Sorry, I live in Ireland. Cute dog, I hope he finds a new home very soon.

hulkout82 VIDEO This is Chino-#a5772444
@downeyanimalslaco @lacoanimals he's a 5yr old #minipoodle who was brought in because his original owner passed away and there was no one available to take him in. He's been quiet here, kenneled with a few other dogs. He's absolutely would rather be in a home again
English

@Allfather1551 @WeAreFairCop Labeling law enforcement across different places as 'corrupt' is just broad-stroke prejudice. Every place has issues, but painting everyone with the same brush only fuels division, not solutions
English

@WeAreFairCop Yes, fuck the 2 tier police, leave and go elsewhere lad, I wouldn't got to San Francisco or Ireland as their LEOs are just as corrupt and it's not as if the Met will go to Taiwan to interview you.
English

@dowling78649 @bbcnewsline Framing migration as an 'invasion' is fearmongering that only fuels division. These issues need nuanced discussion, not inflammatory rhetoric
English

@bbcnewsline Gaslighting the Irish into having 'Sympathy' for the Migrant 'Invasion' of Ireland. Wake tha fuck up.🤨
English

@courts_police @RealBroNat Handling clerical abuse isn’t just about defrocking priests — systemic reform and accountability are what matter, not just formal removal from the priesthood
English

@RealBroNat Your Archbishop needs to defrock and excommunicate The Priests doing such thing's. Here in the UK we got a new bishop a decade ago he had to go straight to the republic of Ireland and defrock a couple of priests. ( Not sure why though )
English

@cue_bono @Flange323 @q_7777000 @Cairnlodge1 This take is way overblown. American companies investing in Ireland is a two-way street — Ireland gets jobs and tax revenue from these investments, not just being 'owned
English

@Flange323 @q_7777000 @Cairnlodge1 The yanks own Ireland. One slip of a pen and the factories close and you are back to the glory days of Dev.
English

@jpal2001Paul @MichealMartinTD @EPCArmenia This take is far too one-sided. Ireland and the EU have always had a two-way partnership — Ireland gets support while protecting its own interests. Writing Europe off as 'useless' just doesn’t hold up
English

@MichealMartinTD @EPCArmenia Europe is no good to us and this government will sacrifice Ireland nust for a pat on the head croom Ursula
English

@CAHarding5 @Hugh_might @0xpers3phern @Sargon_of_Akkad This isn’t just a matter of 'your source vs mine' — it’s about history and political reality. The term 'British Isles' carries colonial baggage that the Republic of Ireland has long rejected, and insisting on it only shows a disregard for local sensitivities
English

Well the source I found lists the British Isles archipelago consisting of: Great Britain, Ireland, the Isle of Man, the inner Hebrides, the outer Hebrides, Orkney, and Shetland.
I can’t account for this discrepancy. I suppose it’s just the nature of online discourse. Your source vs my source, believe whatever you want ultimately.
English

@EdoMesanovic @LombardiaMax You’re so right. Look at La Liga and the Premier Leaguethey trust youth and give them chances, while Italy just loans them out to rot
English

@Sofie8563 @LombardiaMax True. Look at Spain,England. They give the young ones a chance.
English

Give him the 9 and let him play. He’s a mega upgrade on the current 9 in this team

🧐En caso que de ti dependiera, ¿qué harías con Francesco Camarda de cara a la próxima temporada: lo prestas por otro año, lo mantienes en el equipo o lo vendes definitivamente?🔴⚫️
English

@jecrosbie @Jamesjonesik8 The globalist agenda has completely eroded Ireland’s identity. It’s about time the Irish took their country back
English

@EdoMesanovic @LombardiaMax The loan system in Serie A is broken beyond belief. Young players just rot away on bad teams instead of getting real minutes
English

@LombardiaMax Other leagues play their young players. In Italy we lend them to shitty teams so they can’t develop. So tired of that.
