@MeLlamoRooster I agree with you both, but would maybe add that getting help sooner when really new to R helped me get comfortable enough with how to problem solve (is it my code, my inputs, etc) that then I could go far longer before seeking help for my next 'what did I do wrong now'.

Couldn’t agree more. I tend to say give it a couple hours and then ask for help. I think struggling helps a bit. It’s also helpful when you have a postdoc in the lab that has excellent R skills and can help with those request 😉
