Accelerating access to off-grid solar & productive appliances for underserved communities in Africa☀️

Clean power use is rising and will emerge stronger from the Iran war as surging prices of gas and oil and disrupted fossil fuel supplies impose severe strain on economies. The world could double down on low-carbon energy, according to one view. Batteries, or storage, will be a big part of the shift. So will corporations, which are increasing renewable energy consumption. Power-thirsty hyperscalers for the first time made up about half of the green power purchases last year. Here are three things to watch: 1️⃣Solar-plus-storage gains appeal in Saudi Arabia, a fossil fuel powerhouse 2️⃣Hyperscalers are buying ever more clean energy 3️⃣Power supply from Australia’s batteries up Read more → bloom.bg/4cMaNcE

Fossil fuels are wrecking our planet & holding economies hostage. Renewable energy delivers what fossil fuels never can: real & lasting energy security. Let’s make the right choice & unleash the renewables revolution for climate stability, energy security & a liveable future.

"This is my ask: Partnership rooted in sovereignty. Stop designing systems for communities & start funding people designing systems for themselves." — @SkollWorldForum talk by Kate Kallot of @AminiTech, an org working on sovereign data & AI Infra across the Global South

Excited to participate in the @Artizen + @FundingCommons fund S6. Pls consider purchasing our $10 artifact & supporting solar power & productive appliances for off-grid communities in Africa.☀️ It's super easy & fun; you can buy using a card/crypto: artizen.fund/index/p/the-so…

Balcony (Plug-in) solar is about to take the US by storm & "once paid off, every sunny hour provides you with free power for the life of your panels, many of which have a warranty for 30+ yrs." ⬇️ ☀️Imagine the utility when they come w a battery! canarymedia.com/articles/solar…

Highly recommend: Wild w Sarah Wilson podcast featuring systems thinker & futurist, Samantha Sweetwater, who it turns out, mentions the recent @FundingCommons gethering, & that "people are developing Bioregional Resilience Hubs all over the world." ☀️⬇️ open.substack.com/pub/sarahwilso…
