There is a hard truth I've seen a lot of ppl tend to forget/dislike but unfortunately is still the truth If you hold toxic ppl accountable, many will paint you as the bad guy instead because... They're toxic. They wanna believe they're the victim/good one and want others to think the same because accountability is hard and not everyone is built to have it until they work on being able to Ppl make allegiances to others and will lean towards who they are "closer" to, whether through connection, hero complexes, trauma bonds, projection, money, etc. Sometimes regardless of what truth comes out. This means being the person to put your foot down and hold someone accountable might lead to you being a villain in their eyes (unless they're willing to find out the truth). It sucks because it does show where you lie with ppl and tempts you to not hold your integrity high. But honestly? It does you a favor. It shows you who actively values you. It shows you who's being objective in their social choices/who's safe/who's not/etc. So your integrity may seem like it costs a lot, but it does give you more than you realize. It gives you peace. It keeps your circle honest. And makes room for your actual ppl and not ppl who just keep you around. It may be hard but honesty and integrity for the future outweigh all of the headaches and stress of just trying to keep the peace. 🩷💚
