We're proud to have raised more than £7,200 for @newstartcharity – The Wythenshawe Transplant Fund, helping to support transplant patients on their recovery journey. Through a series of fundraising activities colleagues across Stephensons came together to raise an incredible £7,259 for the charity. The donation has already helped fund a specialist bed bike, supporting patients' rehabilitation, fitness and wellbeing following transplant surgery. The cause is particularly close to our hearts through the inspiring transplant journey of our colleague Martyn Jackson, who has recently been appointed as a trustee of the charity. What is Cafcass and what role does it play in family court proceedings? When parents cannot agree on arrangements for their children, the court may ask Cafcass to become involved. As an independent organisation, its role is to help the court understand what is in a child's best interests and identify any welfare or safeguarding concerns. Our blog explains the Cafcass process, what parents can expect and how its recommendations can influence the outcome of a case: ow.ly/TM3k50ZoOX1
