Please join me at one of our upcoming community meetings focused on solutions to Jersey City's financial crisis. Every resident who attends will have the opportunity to speak and we will livestream on the City's Instagram & YouTube. There will be two more meetings on July 11&16.

Today I announced a revised plan to bring the tax increase down to 15%. Those who broke Jersey City's finances broke basically everything else in our government. By fixing our finances, we lay the foundation to rebuild government and make it work for you--Jersey City residents.

Good news: The State of New Jersey will provide Jersey City with $120 million in financial help, $105 million of which is a loan. It's our job now to continue being responsible and making the tough but necessary decisions to ensure this crisis never happens again.

We continue to respond to resident concerns about the proposed 20% tax increase necessary to fund City operations by reducing spending. Jersey City terminated a contract for daily park maintenance in 7 City parks along with the composting program, saving $1 million a year.
