I started web dev in 2022. I have never gotten a single gig. I didn't know I need to make connections. Now I am sort of a laughing stock to my friends because I have been doing this for 4 years and I have nothing to show for. But I'll still keep pushing.

We keep hearing don't stop, someone is watching. But it's difficult, because we can't show up sometimes because we don't have data, constant light, good laptops. Some of us even wasted years, because of lack of proper guidance.

Junior devs without jobs on this app really go through a lot. Me and 99 others, have to code and build ourselves relentlessly, because we never know when we will get our first gig. We keep questioning ourselves every day, "What am I doing wrong?". While audio devs make us fear

@hsprafrique I started learning earlier this year with kdenlive. That app doesn't do anything for you, you wouldn't even know what to touch, I have to Google everything.

Nobody talks about the mental health of Nigerian junior developers. Imposter syndrome every morning. Debt from the loans they took. Family expecting money they don't have. Rejection emails piling up. Data finishing when they can't afford more. They're not struggling to code. They're struggling to survive while coding. This needs to be said louder.
