Have you seen the movie Hoppers? Did you enjoy it? I did. But it has some glaring problems that are a reflection of our culture/society. Go watch my analysis... Or else. youtu.be/BpI-15ga9eY

@MrsCMFrancis There’s no shame among smut readers. My coworker literally was just talking about it at work casually. I feel like most people who watch porn at least have some shame comparatively

Reading smut is a degenerate waste of time. Have some self respect. We need to stop normalizing it.

@SongEternal X just announced that they've changed the algorithm so that our mutuals, meaning people that we follow each other, will start to see each other's posts more. That's why I'm increasing my mutuals.

I'm following back as many verified accounts as they'll let me follow back every day because they are now determining our distribution based upon our mutual follows. I want to follow as many people as possible. Just because I follow you doesn't mean I love you or approve of anything you say but if you're a premium account, pretty good chance I'm gonna follow you back.

AIPAC is now spending 8x as much as Abdul El-Sayed's entire campaign on the MI Senate primary. This race is not between Abdul and Haley Stevens. It is Abdul vs. AIPAC. A billionaire-funded Super PAC shouldn't determine American elections or foreign policy. Let's support Abdul.

Me and my coworker were talking and he said the word shun and I started to say “shunnnn. Shun the nonbeliever” but I didn’t want him to think I was weird if he didn’t get the reference

A massive new hyperscale data center project called Stratos is planned for Box Elder County, Utah. If built, it would demand up to 9 gigawatts of electricity, more than twice the total power consumption of the entire state. But the real shock comes from the waste heat. According to Utah State University physics professor Robert Davies, the facility would generate an additional 7 to 8 gigawatts of heat, creating a total thermal output of roughly 16 gigawatts concentrated in one location. That energy release, Davies calculated, is comparable to detonating 23 atomic bombs per day in Hansel Valley, a high desert basin near the shrinking Great Salt Lake that naturally traps heat like a bowl. The project’s energy footprint would also be roughly equal to that of 40,000 Walmart Supercenters. Local temperatures could rise by about 5°F (2.8°C) during the day and a staggering 28°F (15.6°C) at night. Ecologists warn that such dramatic warming would stress an already fragile ecosystem, worsen toxic dust from the drying lakebed, and disrupt plants, wildlife, and water resources. As the backbone of artificial intelligence, data centers are essential for every AI query, image, and training run. The Stratos project now raises a critical question: Can the massive infrastructure behind AI expand without permanently transforming, and overheating, the communities and landscapes where it’s built? ["‘So much worse than I even thought’: Utah’s ‘hyperscale’ data center could create massive heat island near Great Salt Lake." The Salt Lake Tribune]

So hypothetically.... If you find a customizable model you like and then go to the artist page who made it, look it over and decide that it was the one you wanted, but then go back to their twitter and find out that they've blocked you, but you've never talked to them, would you still buy the model anyways/buy it out of use or would you just look for another one to purchase? Asking for a friend.

A very good post. I'll add this; The best advice I can give any author is to manage your expectations. My first piece was published in 2018. My first book was published in 2019. I got on X in 2023. I'm getting close to a decade into this, and I am only just getting to a place of "success". This is mostly due to the Space Cowboys who took a chance on my books. BUT (And this Butt has cheeks of steel) A writer's occupation has always resembled the turtle more than the hare. I probably have another decade ahead of me before I "make it".
Plain Runner@plainrunner2

This one really speaks to me. Not that I'm a brilliant author (I can punch my weight), but that the self-publishing route is so heavily dependent on building a following via platforms which are engineered to be all consuming. We talk a fair bit about patrons from a monetary perspective, but really, what an author often needs is someone who simply believes in their work and can highlight it. Here's the thing, though. It has to be genuine all down the line. The author has to do the work and produce something worthy. He or she has to build honest, organic relationships that are saturated in mutual goodwill and are not purely mercenary. There has to be patience and persistence, but also grace and the ability to roll with the downturns. The simple fact is sometimes Joseph gets forgotten by the cupbearer, and we have to be okay with that till the time is right. The idea of "chasing influencers" always hits me wrong, because it seems to set out from a place of using people. At the same time, good people on this platform or anywhere else who have been blessed with influence can be really helpful to those who are trying to fight the good fight by bringing beauty back to the fore.
