@Virge You said it all. I couldn't agree more with this. Rocket League deserves a company who cares about the game. We've seen enough of Epic treating the game like an afterthought, it's time for RL to shine again by itself. Hopefully companies like Riot or Valve see RL's potential.

I remember when Rocket League first came out. Being so excited to play and improve every day. Seeing a dev team that loved their game as much as I loved playing it was such a breathe of fresh air in the gaming industry dominated by triple A titles. I remember buying every car DLC or keys for crates simply because I wanted to support the developers and contribute to their success however I could. It’s so sad to see the game in its current state. Bots ruining the experience. $2 skins being sold for $20. No roadmaps. No new content. No urgency to communicate with the player base. Dev team being Thanos snapped off of the project they’ve built and grown for over a decade. Owners who couldn’t care less if the game dies or not.. And somehow the game still has one of the most dedicated communities and some of the most loyal players and content creators. It’s just goes to show how great this game is. It deserves so much better than what we are seeing and it’s so difficult to watch people who are unaffected by the outcome do everything they can to kill the game. @TimSweeneyEpic is a multi billionaire. Epic Games does billions of dollars in revenue every year. I can’t fault a business for chasing profits but I can fault leaders for chasing greed. And in my eyes no one becomes a billionaire without exploitation to some degree. No individual generates billions of dollars in value so no individual should be worth billions of dollars, especially when it comes at the cost of passionate people who care about what they do losing their livelihoods. Epic games continues removing value from Rocket League while increasing the cost of everything sold in it. Sell the game you don’t care about. Rocket League is not a Fortnite accessory. It’s not a cameo for your golden goose game. Sell it to a company that sees what the community sees in this game. Allow people who care about something other than increasing Fortnite’s profits year over year to take this game places everyone knows it can go. It’s so exhausting just watching Rocket League slowly bleed out and the only people who seem to care are the ones who have no say in what happens. Sorry, rant over.

So you're telling me UEFN map creators and influencers were handed out $720,000,000...some people legitimately became millionaires from creating a map in Fortnite, yet the devs themselves who created and maintained both FN and RL...get laid off?? None of that makes sense. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure thats not how you run a business.

I don’t even know what to say man… we lost trading for Rocket Racing which everyone could tell u would be a failure we lost tons of employees due to mismanagement, I mean they’re handing out $720 Mil a year to FN map makers just sell RL to Riot bro please 😭

I see this update being good and bad. It is great for higher level players who run into cheaters all the time. That is undisputed. It took long enough to address this issue, and I'm certain all extremely high-level players will be very grateful for it (assuming it works). However, for people like me, who are independent casters that rely on Bakkesmod as an input software for BARL, I'm highly concerned. The "case-by-case basis" that is going to be used to let some casters use Bakkesmod in private matches is going to be very limited. There are several casters who don't do any casting for RLCS and simply do stuff on the collegiate, high school, or amateur level. I would think the likelihood of them getting permission to use it would be minimal. I could be entirely wrong, and they could give permission to plenty of casters. Regardless, I am really hopeful that this does not hurt the amateur and independent rocket league scene as much as I think it will. In addition to that, outside of the really high-level players, cheaters aren't as common in lower ranks. I have several friends who have never ran into cheaters before, but use Bakkesmod for car customizations. It's a small thing, but without the ability to trade, items that they would be using from Bakkesmod vanish with a very minimal likelihood of having/wearing those cosmetics again. Ultimately, my main hopes for the update are that the anti-cheat program works, and more casters are partnered with than I expect. Let's see what happens.

The biggest issue with this is gonna be smaller TOs unable to run custom overlays for tourneys, and your day to day user unable to use Bakkes for quality of life improvements 🥲 I get WHY they've had to remove the ability to inject into the game but I hate that they have to 😭

2025 ends this evening, and there's so much I could say. It began rocky, the middle got a bit better, and the end well, didn't end how I expected at all. 3 LAN casts in one calendar year, seeing my friends, experienced heartache, humbled by self growth. Cheers, here's to 2026.
