SONNET Study

Our new paper examining the content of existing measures of social connection for care home residents, led by Madalena Liougas. We itemised each item in 31 measures, providing a detailed inventory of the content of these to clarify what aspect of social connection they measure.

We found that existing measures usually assess more than one aspect of social connection. These aspects cover several interlinked observed or experienced domains, so the measures assess a mix of social connection concepts. alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

We used COSMIN review methods to appraise them and found that no current measures can be recommended for use based on existing evidence. A reliable and valid measure of social connection is needed - watch this space for more @SonnetStudy work!
