#ThisWeekAtSookio I took time out of the business to *think* about the business, with my good friend, agency advisor Kelly Molson. Goal setting, sharing wins and challenges... all the good stuff. The opportunity to take a step back and see the progress every three months is so valuable ✨

#ThisWeekAtSookio The bus, rail, digital, and radio campaign for an education client moved out of planning and much closer to launch, which is very satisfying to see…

#ThisWeekAtSookio I was back at the @westcamhub for podcast workshop part deux, this time on production essentials with Rob Birnie from Made by DBM, who produces Communication Untangled and loads of excellent podcasts. Everyone really got into the interview practice activity where they had to play host and guest on topics like: What's the best way to load a dishwasher, and the psychology of supermarket queues. Fun, and very valuable practice!

Quarterly strategy session with the brilliant Kelly Molson, taking time out to focus on our own businesses - resetting targets & goals, sharing wins & challenges... all the good stuff. The opportunity to take a step back and see the progress every three months is so valuable ✨

Both children have come home to celebrate Mothers' Day ... and I'm so happy to see them both. And I'm remembering with a giggle the time many year ago when they brought me the 'perfect' Mothers' Day breakfast in bed .... a Cornetto!!! 🤣

@EmSilverwood91 I think if they were that interested they'd do it when you sign up, as an automated process 🤷🏻‍♀️

@EmSilverwood91 These are the same people who spend February sending emails telling you that you don't have to receive Mother's Day emails if you don't want... oh go away...!

@EmSilverwood91 I agree with this so much. Having lost my Mum, it's a complex one for me... but then it's complex for a lot of women and I just want other mums to be able to simply enjoy the day without being forced to apologise or feel guilty for it

#ThisWeekAtSookio There were lots of one-to-one interviews with world-class engineers and academics, ahead of a new content project - capturing in their own words why their institution is so special. Lovely view, too...

#ThisWeekAtSookio I was back at the @westcamhub to run the first of three workshops on how to launch, produce, and promote your podcast. A very lively session, loved it!

@sookio @kirsten_hesketh I feel seen - I found my Grade 8 flute certificate from 1987, which I’m submitting with wedding certificate to sit Grade 8 singing. Also considering a PhD. Yay for older people taking on the world!

@elizabethmchug5 @kirsten_hesketh Go for it! I got up to Grade 6 then stopped during my GCSEs and it's always felt like unfinished business. Picking it back up has used a very different and rather rusty part of my brain...

@sookio @kirsten_hesketh I got my Grade 7 - so I see you as a motivator. I looked at the requirements for Grade 8 recently and it reminded me of how much I have forgotten!

@kirsten_hesketh @dave10662024 Haha, it's bringing back so many horrible memories. No... it's a new option they brought in during the pandemic... 4 pieces instead of 3 and you have to record them back to back and send it in. All the other bits are taken out. And you can still choose to do the standard exam too

@dave10662024 @kirsten_hesketh You can imagine how I felt then when I realised I'd have to do it all over again then 😭😂 Still, they've brought in a new thing now which is performance grades, so you do four pieces back to back, no scales or arpeggios. So it's swings and roundabouts, I suppose?!

@sookio @kirsten_hesketh Good grief. That's the stuff of nightmares. I had to do the theory circa '84/5 to go on with Royal College practicals Grades 6-8. I'd stand no chance of passing Grade 5 theory now!
