The reveal of the new Dragon Quest XII protagonist has sparked backlash from some fans, with many criticizing the character’s appearance and describing him as looking “ugly”, “tired,” “sleep-deprived,” or “unappealing.”
Following the backlash over the character being ugly, the developers had to confirm that the protagonist was designed by Akira Toriyama, the legendary artist who created character designs for the Dragon Quest series for decades.

@PurifiedSelect@YBurden07@reddit_lies It's part of the consequence of moving away from Christianity in particular. People can't just create foundations out of nothing. Identifying as a human being doesn't attract attention or perceived notions of love. So people look to politics, sexuality, "gender", etc. for that
@YBurden07@Sorenthaz@reddit_lies People have a lot of traumas these days and very few communities that could help build their identities in a positive way.
I think everyone these days struggles with identity to some extent and trans is another manifestation of that.
@burrito69420@ItRainedMilk@reddit_lies It was used for the overly sensitive types who got offended over every little thing, which largely was with lefties at the time demanding political correctness, getting outraged over the smallest things, etc. I.e., the beginnings of the LGBT/pronoun cult shit was snowflakey af.
@Sorenthaz@ItRainedMilk@reddit_lies Snowflake just means someone who takes everything really personally, even slight disagreements. That’s always what it meant. The right started overusing it and demanded everyone only ever saw the left as snowflakes, and want everyone to pretend snowflakes don’t exist on the right
@CursedK1NG_ So much of the issues we're dealing with today from the looney bins are due to:
1. Daddy issues.
2. Not being bullied enough.
3. Groomed by pedos.
"I think I figured out why Hazbin Hotel fans hate Heaven"
"Oh really? Why's that?"
"It's because it's built on the idea of a constantly present and loving Father!"
"DOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!"
@Liesorliars@HazelAppleyard Definitely not a cult. Totally aren't exhibiting textbook cult traits. Abandoning their family because their family doesn't love them or know them like Reddit does is totally not a common thing that cults do to their targets.
@burrito69420@ItRainedMilk@reddit_lies Snowflake was always used for the snowflakey LGBT pronoun types who wanted to be given special treatment that differs from the norm. Then those who took offense to it tried to gaslight and turn it around on regular people/right-leaning folk who question their insane delusions.
@YellowFlashGuy In any other day/age, women would be absolutely furious about having one of their heroines become a biological man. Especially feminists.
@YBurden07@PurifiedSelect@reddit_lies Probably for guys, for women it varies? Women seem to get talked into it if they exhibit tomboyish elements/grow up with boys and feel awkward about their bodies when hitting puberty. Dunno. I'm just going off of what I've heard/seen from Jordan Peterson/etc.
@Sorenthaz@PurifiedSelect@reddit_lies I keep thinking that the vast majority of tr👀ns were sexually abused as children, which makes sense about the intense infatuation with porn. Am I wrong on this?
@G40506097@reddit_lies It *could* have been funny maybe if the fourth panel didn't sound like the projection of a kid who got called a snowflake once 10 years ago and never let go of it.
@reddit_lies Have to appreciate how they’re still using “snowflake”.
It’s been a decade since we used that one. Must’ve really gotten under their skin.
@reddit_lies It's funny how they got so upset at being called snowflakes for the longest time that they're *still* desperately trying to turn it back on normal people.
@t0taldisgust@AnimexTwts Dragonball was basically the grandfather/father of the Big 3 lol. They were the big three shonen giants of the 2000's a good while after Dragon Ball's manga had ended in 1995.
@elvenmaidinn The MeToo shit also removed Chris Avellone's influence for awhile, and it obviously showed with the projects he had worked on (Dying Light 2 was hyping up its whole narrative/choices, VtM Bloodlines 2 was a thing that happened lmao) being shit without him.
