Meet Linda Christine Jakand'ango, the founder of One Pad One Plastic, an inspiring enterprise in the Blue Economy space based in the Lake Region. Linda is a proud participant in the Elevate Blue Program, which aims to identify and support early-stage entrepreneurs across Kenya and Tanzania who are building innovative solutions within the blue economy and marine litter sectors. Her innovative venture transforms plastic waste collected from the environment into reusable sanitary pads. Through this impactful initiative, she not only supports girls in schools who cannot afford sanitary towels but also contributes significantly to environmental conservation by reducing plastic pollution in our lakes and oceans. Phase 2 of the Elevate Blue Project training kicked off today in with great enthusiasm as startups in Lake Region embarked on the next stage of their growth journey.
