At 1483 (Brentwood) Sqn this evening to promote the OC (Fg Off Morgan) to Flt Lt. Having commanded the Sqn for almost 3.5 years, the Sqn has remained engaged & stable offering the full cadet experience under his command. Congratulations Flt Lt Morgan @EssexWingATC @CERegionRAFAC

This evening @2243Sqn supported the Mayors Office by forming a guard of honour welcoming Cllrs, community groups & VIP’s to the Basildon Borough Council’s Annual Civic Service. Smartly turned out representing @EssexWingATC in the local community 👌🏼 @OCEssexWing @BasildonCouncil

Change of command ceremony last night at 2476 (Hutton) Squadron. The parade marks the handover of command to Fg Off Emery from Sqn Ldr Harris (who now takes up a new role as East Sector Commander). Best of luck to you both in your new roles. @EssexWingATC

Last Sunday Squadrons from across South Sector came together for the annual ‘ATC Sunday’ parade in Basildon, marking the anniversary of the formation of the Air Training Corps; formed on 5 February 1941. Very smart & great turnout 👌🏼 Venture Adventure @EssexWingATC @OCEssexWing

Kicked 2025 off with a WSO visit to 2476 (Hutton) Squadron. Whilst visiting I had the pleasure of formally promoting newly appointed APO Weller in front of the squadron. Congratulations and well done. @EssexWingATC @OCEssexWing

Manning the finish line on day 1 of the Wing road marching weekend today (unfortunately no one painted the checkered line) but it’s the thought that counts! Somewhat slower than the standard F1 race, but got the smiles going as teams took their final few paces of the day 😎😉

Not long home after a rather hot & sweaty couple of days expedition training with cadets and my cadet-hood OC from 358 Sqn (where life as a cadet it all started for me) on Lowland Expedition Leader training/ mentoring duty. @358WellingATC Safe to say, I’ll sleep well tonight 😅

Detectives are appealing for information after a motorcyclist died following a collision with a van on Woodridden Hill (A121), Upshire, at 5.25am on Wednesday, May 8. The 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since died.
