SYNOPSIS:
In the early years of the Republic of China, a bizarre murder case known as "Water Ghost Longing for Home" occurred at sea in Southeast Asia.
Zhang Haiyan and Zhang Haixia, two staff members from the Southern Archives dispatched by the Zhang family to investigate the mysterious events, were unexpectedly drawn into a deadly trap used to hunt down members of the Zhang family overseas.
Zhang Haixia offered his own death to solve the trap, sending Zhang Haiyan aboard the giant ship "Nan'an" back to Xiamen in hopes of giving him a chance to survive.
However, this turbulent voyage seemed to have only just begun. A powerful warlord, a naive and persistent young accountant, and relatives and friends not seen for ten years...
