@TiborPNagyJr You are absolutely right. Leaders in these countries never learn from other countries how to treat their citizens well especially those with evidence of marginalization When an idea is already thought of and implemented like selfdetermination of independence it cant be stopped

African Union is having fits over Israeli recognition of Somaliland due to fear of some members over secession movements in their own countries-e.g. Ambazonia from Cameroon; Biafra from Nigeria. If these nations treated their minorities justly such movements would not exist!

Trump keeps call Africans garbage while as you said still keep African diplomacy intact! I don't understand this double standard! Why is Trump fighting SA ? Is it because SA doesn't want to bow and be a henpeck like other African leaders who are beggars?

US Presidents have the right to appoint ambassadors so no real surprise in 30 serving US Ambassadors being asked to return to DC. But given the small size of most US Embassies in Africa, Im hoping those leaving will be quickly replaced in the interest of our African diplomacy.

Dangerous rubbish heap blocks road in Douala, highlighting governance vacuum A growing pile of rubbish is dangerously blocking a key road in Douala, raising safety and public health concerns and fuelling criticism over what residents describe as a widening leadership vacuum in the country. The obstruction is located in Bonabéri Nangha Compagnie, along the road leading to Cimetière Kottoba, an axis used daily by motorists, pedestrians and mourners. Residents say the heap of waste has narrowed the roadway, forcing vehicles to swerve dangerously and increasing the risk of accidents, especially at night and during the rainy season. “This is not just an eyesore, it’s a death trap,” said a local motorbike rider. “We complain, but nobody comes. It’s as if the state has abandoned this area.” Locals say repeated alerts to municipal services have gone unanswered, accusing authorities of indifference and lack of coordination. The situation has become a symbol, critics argue, of deeper governance failures at both local and national levels. Some residents openly link the neglect to what they describe as an absence of political leadership at the top of the state. President Paul Biya has rarely appeared in public in recent months, prompting growing speculation about who is effectively steering the country. Attention has also turned to the Secretary-General of the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, whom critics accuse of exercising power without a popular mandate. “You cannot govern a country—or even manage basic sanitation—by decree alone,” a community leader said. “Without accountability to the people, nothing works.” As rubbish continues to pile up in Bonabéri, residents say the blocked road is more than a local sanitation issue. For many, it has become a stark reminder of a state they believe is increasingly disconnected from everyday realities, where even urgent hazards can linger untreated amid political inertia.

@renoomokri Africa is dying slowly because of people like you! Why won't you clap for the Tinibu! Terrorism, drugs and corruption in Niger is at it peak! A country that 1/4 of its citizens are out of the country can't regarded as a nation that's doing well. Ask yourself why?

I urge citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria not to abuse the freedom of speech guaranteed in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999) as amended, by making inflammatory comments about the situation in our neighbour and brother nation, the Republic of Benin, and adding Nigeria to their unguarded statements.  It makes great sense to exercise caution when dealing with forces and situations we do not fully understand.  There is no country on Earth where it is legal to publicly call for a change of government, except by democratic means. Such remarks are not freedom of speech. They are treasonous. Do not abuse such freedoms and then cry wolf when your chickens come home to roost. Flippant, unpatriotic utterances on social media may have real-life consequences. Think twice before attempting to trend with words that bend the law.  Stability in Nigeria has resulted in a $46.7 billion foreign reserve, the fourth-highest on the African continent. It has also led to a 3.93% GDP growth in the immediate past quarter and 4.23% growth in the quarter before that (Q2, 2025).  Furthermore, inflation has been tamed and is now at 16.05%, even as President Bola Tinubu has equally expanded Nigeria's GDP by $67 billion in just two years, moving us from a ₦269.29 trillion economy on May 29, 2023, when Asiwaju became President, to ₦372.8 trillion today.  There is no state in Nigeria, including your state, that is not currently receiving at least twice the federal allocation it previously got before May 29, 2023.  Nigeria's trade surplus has risen from ₦1.2 trillion in 2022 to ₦6.9 trillion in 2024, and our currency, the Naira, has been ranked among the ten best currencies in Africa by Investing.com and Trading Economics. And our government has achieved the noteworthy feat of increasing our national prestige by securing the upgrading of Nigeria's passport from the 97th strongest in the world in 2023 to the 88th most powerful passport on Earth today, according to the latest Henley Passport Index.  All of these feats were achieved due to political stability in Nigeria, which benefits you and your friends and family.  As such, I urge all Nigerian citizens to allow our government to respond to the developments in the Republic of Benin and to call themselves to order in their public statements regarding the democratically elected governments of Nigeria and its neighbours.  Reno Omokri

Breaking News: Two members of Cameroon’s gendarmerie were killed and several others injured this afternoon following an ambush at a checkpoint in Fundong, NW region of Cameroon. The attack, carried out by armed Ambazonian separatists, targeted officers as they were performing routine security duties. The incident comes amid the ongoing Anglophone crisis, a conflict that began in late 2016 when protests over marginalisation of English-speaking regions escalated into armed separatist movements. Fighters seeking independence for a self-proclaimed state called “Ambazonia” have since engaged in clashes with government forces, leaving thousands dead and displacing hundreds of thousands across the Northwest and Southwest regions. The latest attack highlights the enduring volatility in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions, where sporadic fighting, lockdowns, and attacks on civilians and security forces remain a persistent challenge to peace efforts.

@MimiMefoInfo You can never remove a dictator from power without the sound of a gun. These Northists were just blowing hot air making Cameroonians to think that they have a stand-by army ready to strike if the Biya's junta carries out Electoral fraud of which they were aware of. WEAKLING.

#Flash “It is up to us to decide whether we want a president in prison or free,” declares Me Alice Nkom The spokesperson for elected president Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Me Alice Nkom, delivered a particularly sharp statement on Cameroon’s post-electoral situation. Asked about what she describes as the leader’s “strategic exile” in Gambia, the lawyer said this decision stems from security concerns and the need to safeguard the mandate “the people entrusted to him.” “It is up to us to decide whether we want a President of the Republic in prison or free,” she stated, arguing that Issa Tchiroma’s presence outside the country is necessary given the hostile political context. She repeatedly compared the current posture of the elected president to that of General de Gaulle speaking from London during World War II. Me Nkom directly accuses Paul Biya of being a “despot” and “capable of physically eliminating” his opponents, insisting that he “wrongfully occupies” power despite his alleged defeat in the October 12 election. She says the outgoing head of state “does not joke with the presidential seat” and remains “eligible for forced eviction” from the Etoudi Palace. Regarding her role as spokesperson, Me Nkom says she works closely with the international community. She asserts her freedom of expression, relying on legal instruments ratified by Cameroon: “I am afraid of nothing. The law is on my side. Let him violate it and come arrest me… but not before,” she declared defiantly. Asked about the solution to the crisis, the lawyer was straightforward: “Paul Biya must be asked to move out. He is occupying property that no longer belongs to him.” This statement comes amid a tense political climate marked by disputes over the official results and growing calls for a peaceful transfer of power.

Breaking News: Gambia Hosts HE Issa Tchiroma Bakary The Government of The Gambia has confirmed the arrival of Cameroonian president-elect Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who sought temporary refuge in the country following post-election tensions in Cameroon. HE Bakary arrived on November 7, 2025, after contesting the recent Cameroonian elections. Officials say his stay in The Gambia is purely humanitarian, undertaken in the spirit of African solidarity and aimed at ensuring his safety while diplomatic efforts continue in the region. The Gambian government emphasised its strong commitment to the sovereignty of all African Union member states and stressed that its territory would not be used for subversive activities against any country. Authorities are working closely with regional partners — including Nigeria — to encourage a peaceful, negotiated resolution to Cameroon’s post-electoral conflict. The positive and principled stance reflects The Gambia’s own democratic journey, having successfully navigated a contested transition in 2017 when power shifted peacefully after its 2016 elections. Dictator Yahyah Jammeh, who lost the elections, refused to leave, and through national and international pressure, he finally handed over power to the current president, who was the legitimate winner of the elections. Today, the country is positioning itself as a voice for stability, dialogue, and respect for democratic ideals in West and Central Africa. The government says it will continue to keep the public informed as developments unfold.

“Time will stand still.” With these words, Barrister Alice Nkom, spokesperson for President-elect Issa Tchiroma Bakary, has added her voice to Tchiroma’s call for a National Day of Mourning to be observed on Friday, November 21, 2025. She urges Cameroonians to join the one-minute pause at noon, meant to honor the innocent people who have disappeared across the country. Her message reinforces the President-elect’s appeal for reflection, dignity, and justice for victims and their families. #Change #JusticeB4Goodness #StopHoldUpÉlectoral #Cameroon #ThePeopleInPower #ElectedPresident #HeDoesNotCheat

Tension in Bamenda Cathedral as Apostolic Nuncio Mentioning Biya Received Rejection A moment of truth unfolded during the rededication ceremony of St Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedral in Bamenda when the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon, Archbishop José Avelino Bettencourt, referred to Paul Biya as “President of Cameroon.” The congregation reacted with audible disapproval — a rare scene inside a Catholic church. The Nuncio, visibly irritated, sharply responded: “I am the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon!” — a statement interpreted by some as a defensive assertion of authority amid rising public distrust. This incident comes at a time when Cameroonians accuse the Catholic hierarchy of concerning silence as state forces intensify arrests, disappearances, and reported killings following the highly contested October 12 presidential election. Many expected a firmer stance from Church leaders — especially after bishops previously urged Biya to step down due to his 43 years in power. Critics argue the Vatican’s diplomatic engagement appears to have softened local clergy just when moral leadership is most needed. Suspicion also persists over a private and unexplained meeting between Paul Biya and the Nuncio before the election period — a time when the president had been largely absent from public view. For many Catholics in the North West region, suffering through years of armed conflict and political repression, the expectation is simply that the Church must defend truth, justice, and the dignity of the oppressed, not appear aligned with those accused of violating human rights. The boos in Bamenda may signal a shifting tide, where the faithful demand the Church rediscover its prophetic voice. youtu.be/ftfNvJCEGCs

Gunfire as Security Forces Abduct Businessman Aladji Bahia in Garoua After Failing to Find His Son There was panic in the Camp Chinois neighbourhood of Garoua this evening after security forces abducted prominent businessman Aladji Bahia, owner of the SOACAM company, during a chaotic operation marked by gunfire. According to local sources, the armed men arrived intending to arrest Bahia’s son, whom they accuse of “helping Issa Tchiroma escape the country.” When they did not find him, they instead seized his father. Witnesses say the officers forcibly pulled Aladji Bahia from his vehicle as residents rushed to intervene. The security forces reportedly fired shots in the air to disperse the crowd before taking him away to an unknown location. The incident has led to many questioning why an elderly businessman was taken in place of his son — a practice human rights observers describe as collective punishment, which is illegal under both Cameroonian and international law. The abduction comes amid a nationwide crackdown following the disputed October 12 presidential election, during which thousands have been arrested, abducted, or disappeared for alleged links to HE Issa Tchiroma Bakary. As of now, authorities have issued no public statement on Aladji Bahia’s whereabouts or condition. #Cameroon #Garoua #AladjiBahia #HumanRights #PostElectionCrisis #IssaTchiromaBakary #MMINews #SecurityForces #PoliticalRepression #Soacam
