A note to myself and maybe a random X reader. I was baptized Catholic and went to Catholic school for a time. I rebelled against the Faith. It seemed too hard. Rigid. Unforgiving. I tried New Thought like Emerson. But it lacked depth and meaning. But now at 50 I rediscovered Catholicism. It’s so deep and full of rabbit holes that have no end but all connect. I found Christ in the Eucharist. It’s real. All of it. The magisterium. The catechism. All of it. Come back home. Yes you. Go to Mass. We welcome you. ✝️📿🙏

Occasionally I’ll get a notification that someone liked this old post and it reminds me of how fun bitcoin twitter was during that time. I feel like I don’t see a lot of newbies around wanting to learn this stuff anymore. Am I just out of the loop? Or are we just not fun anymore?

@lyndseyfifield My oldest went to public school. I started out as a fierce proponent, as someone who was homeschooled AND went to public. It's not the schools we went to. I am homeschooling the baby, absolutely.

@lyndseyfifield You're not wrong. I'm a mother of two. My oldest is 22, my youngest is 11 months. I've raised one child to adulthood. I was in the military and then the main breadwinner. I'm staying home this time. I've already learned that lesson. I promise you, you're doing the right thing.

I can't believe I actually felt embarrassment wash over me yesterday in a backyard birthday party on Capitol Hill when a parent asked where my 4 year-old goes to school and all eyes fell upon me. I said “we're doing Classical Conversations” with a smile but should have proudly said “my children are home with me!” They asked no follow up questions. The sacrifices and adjustments my husband and I have made to allow me to stay home with my children are MORE than worth it. Sometimes I fight the feeling that I am being selfish—like I am greedy or wrong to want to spend every waking moment with them, change every diaper, kiss every boo boo, capture every moment and store it away in my brain to nourish me when I am old—as if my doting will harm them somehow... but when I see how their nervous systems are developing, how they trust and love and explore the world with confidence, how they love and are bonded to each other, and how they make friends so easily—not to mention how bright they are, I know I am not the only one benefitting from this. The lie that children NEED pre-school (let alone day care) for academic success has been disproven over and over yet still I squeaked out “classical conversations” when I should have BRAGGED about how much my children are thriving at home.

Can someone explain something to me that I still haven’t fully figured out. How do you deal with the people in your life who think you’re making a mistake with Bitcoin? Do you try to convince them, leave them alone or what do you do?

@SNS_Anon I've met her and her dad. She's very shy and reserved, but also kind and very naive. Her dad however loves the attention, she seemed like a puppet for him :/

Greta Thunberg aged out of her only defense mechanism for when she says something really stupid. She’s in her 20s, but her physical appearance and mental capacity are permanently stuck at age 15. The “listen to the innocent child” grift stopped working the second people realized she’s just a stunted adult lmao.

@kit_sats I talked my mom into it. They didn't have much money but she put what she could into it to save for my dad and niece she was raising after she was gone. This was 2021. It completely went downhill and she died in 2023 at a loss. I don't convince anyone anymore.

When I was a leftist, I had no desire to have children. Now that I lean more conservative and am in the best mental and physical shape of my life, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about having a child or two—if I’m still able. When I was younger I had a lot of unhealed trauma. My parents didn’t encourage me to settle down and have children, because they were also traumatized and had never learned how to work through it. I was scared to repeat the cycle. I feel ideological subversion has been using traumatized women as tools for communism, while simultaneously manipulating them to become infertile through trans ideology or distracting them from their childbearing years with woke causes. Then we’re told the solution to population decline is to bring in more immigrants—which causes housing prices to rise and the idea of a melting pot to warp from diverse groups adopting a country’s culture to taking over that culture. The solution is actually to stop mass immigration, cease wokeism, encourage patriotism and take better care of the country’s citizens so they can have more babies.
