Before Spring Break swept us away our Odyssey of the Mind team took the stage at their showcase, and WOW did they deliver. These kids dreamed big, built bigger, and proved that creativity + teamwork = absolute magic.

STEAM Night was a blast! Robots, marshmallow engineering, blacklight art, math games, catapults, student‑made games, and more. Thanks to DINE, Master Chang’s, and Durham Public Library for joining us.

4th & 5th graders had a blast working after school during a weeklong residency with @paperhandpuppet Ss learned to construct a mask from cardboard, add facial details like eyes, snout, or beak. Then painted their masks & had fun adding accessories and other finishing details.

Huge congratulations to Ms Young our Southwest teacher of the year! No one brings creativity, passion, and heart into the art room quite like she does. From inspiring young artists to building a space where every student compete seen and capable.

Southwest pride in full swing! Ms. Sandres’s 1st graders took charge of their playground with a playground clean up. Dual Language celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with grade level soccer matches and a surprise visit from Duke football players made our Seahawks day.
