Today marks a significant step towards freedom for the Iranian people. This regime brutalised its own citizens and extended terror to Australia, including the firebombing of the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne. We stand with the Iranian people and all who reject terror.

For Jewish people, the grief is overwhelming and so is the anger. Enough is enough. Jewish Australians deserve to feel safe, and I will keep standing up and speaking out until they do.

We visited families in mourning and spent time at St Vincent’s Hospital, including in the ICU, with those still fighting to recover. One of the most powerful moments was watching a young man, recovering from surgery after losing his father, lead prayer from his hospital bed.
