I’m actually going to defend Carl Benjamin, here. Probably wasn’t the best choice of words, as it does sound very condescending, but what Carl is probably attempting to reword in his own way is “he’s just another member of the party, that’s it.” This is obviously going to be the party response whenever they are asked about, Steve. I honestly think this is a nothingburger, and Britboy is naturally going to try & seize on it to drive a wedge. Doesn’t help Carls defence that he slagged off half of restores base last week, but still, I don’t think it was his intention here to insult Steve on camera to the Daily express.
