@Aella_Girl Haha, everybody poke fun at her, she is too self-conscious to dance alone where people can see, but she hasn't thought through the game theory and realized she might be uniquely socially positioned to overcome the incentives and be the first person on the dance floor

@DiracGhost Ahhhhhhhh! She was my roommate in grad school. I’m so proud 🤓

@Bubola @Aella_Girl You are aware, are you not, that the person you have quoted, Blaire White, transitioned *as a minor*?
English

@Aella_Girl I'm the "let adults live how they choose and show them the respect they show me" and not the "let me give kids sex changes, etc." as explained here. That doesn't make me pro or anti. I'm pro capitalism, though lol

@tracewoodgrains If he bought it for that cheap, I wonder if it was government surplus / former biological weapons manufacturing (which Pine Bluff is known for)
English

@Aella_Girl Just let me know if I’m being negative. I don’t think people are always aware when they’re doing it and it’s nice when people care enough to be direct.

I'm always uncertain how to handle this sort of vibe. If you were this person, how would you want people to tell you/request something different of you?

every friend group got that one person who exhausts everyone by only talking about themselves and their trauma/bad luck/unhappiness

@EigenGender I…actually don’t know the answer to that. I’m sure at least some are staff members, political appointees, interest group members, etc. But I’ve only ever been to state conventions like the Texas Democratic Convention, sadly.
English

@SpaceJuno Are most of the attendees really voting delegates? Seems like there are 4700 delegates and seems like many more attendees
English

@EigenGender Answer to your second and third qs: they write the party platform, agree on convention rules, and cast votes on the floor on nominations and platform/rules.

@carl_feynman @LeoWandersleb Models of the upper atmosphere are pretty limited, tbh. It’s really hard to predict weather patterns up there, iirc
English

@LeoWandersleb Perhaps. The input air is Antarctic stratosphere, so tremendously dry. There might be less ordinary snow than there is CO2. I can’t find an actual measurement of stratospheric moisture; any ideas?

Wow, this guy so concisely summarizes why I decided to go back to the space industry and not work in AI
