@SpaceNationOL Soft Launch is Scheduled for 9/27! Great Nations Aren't Built Alone — Join Us in Co-Building the Greatest Virtual Economy. Roughly a year ago, we launched the first Alpha Test of Space Nation Online, with around 300 Alpha Gate holders participating. Over the course of two Closed Betas in 2024, we welcomed 24,893 unique users from 110 countries, reaching a peak of 8,101 DAU and 2,373 Peak Concurrent Users, with impressive and almost unbelievable retention numbers. Beyond the user data, we’ve demonstrated the potential of integrating an MMORPG’s economic system with Web3 technology and tools. The results were both stable and vibrant. During the two Closed Beta tests, we witnessed an in-game transaction volume of 180 billion CHR, with astonishing velocity (If any game tracks in-game currency velocity, we would love to exchange insights). From the very beginning, Space Nation has been dedicated to building a long-term prosperous virtual economy — not a Ponzi-like bubble. The design of the fuel system introduced a significant entry barrier, but it also laid a solid foundation for long-term stability and prosperity. Across the two Closed Betas, a total of 9,376 users purchased fuel, generating over $500,000 in revenue for the company, even with fuel being free during the early stages of CB1 and the fuel refund policy in CB2. We must express our deepest gratitude to all the players who participated in our Closed Beta tests. Your trust, support, and contributions have provided us with vast amounts of data and insights essential to the game’s underlying framework and economic cycle. This has been invaluable in our ongoing development. The economic activity among tens of thousands of users — whether during periods of initial growth, prosperity, stagnation, or recovery — has remained vibrant and resilient. This further proves that building a virtual economy within an MMORPG, empowered by Web3 technologies and tools, is the right path: The content and gameplay can attract a large number of Web2 players and Web3 users. Continuous and stable external value input from some or all players. Players can take on different roles to exchange value within the game and ecosystem. Both in-game currency and NFT assets will exhibit liquidity higher than that of traditional MMORPGs. This gives us a glimpse of an embryonic, stable, durable, and resilient virtual economic system. More importantly, it proves the potential for Web3 games to break free from the Ponzi-like structures. Are we fully ready? Not really. By the standards of a mature MMORPG, we are not fully ready. There’s still a lot of content, systems, and gameplay to be added and polished. By our traditional standards, Space Nation Online might be fully ready and become a fully qualified MMORPG by the end of the year, prepared to be released to all Web2 MMORPG gamers. But are we ready to go? Yes, definitely. Last year, it took me several months to realize that the core of a Web3 project isn’t the product but the community. This year, through the two Closed Betas, I’ve come to understand just how crucial the community and core users are to the growth and development of a Web3 project. During the two Closed Beta tests, whether we were experiencing rapid growth in data, persistent technical issues, or when the economic system temporarily stalled due to design flaws, there were always many calm and clear-headed players providing us with detailed test data and timely feedback, while also offering stern advice, encouragement, and solid suggestions. I gradually realized that if handled properly, our team isn’t just 100 people, but hundreds, or even more. Furthermore, CB2 revealed not only issues with system design and numerical balance but also a deeper issue inherent to Web3 MMORPGs: the virtual economy is slow to heat up during the initial accumulation phase, with limited demand in the game. This imbalance is exacerbated by the influx of early assets and the strong short-term profit expectations of some Web3 users. Without the community's involvement in testing and identifying these conflicts, we wouldn’t have been fully prepared for the Soft Launch, as such issues don’t typically arise in Web2. Thanks to the community's support, we not only addressed these challenges during CB2.0 but also laid a strong foundation for the Soft Launch. Based on these considerations and plans, we aim to actively push forward with the project, engaging the community and core users in meaningful co-creation, while maintaining strict control and management in the early stages. Space Nation will officially Soft Launch on September 27. The Soft Launch will be divided into two phases: 1. The first 6 weeks: CB2 game content with a level cap. 2. The next 6 weeks: Level Cap 60. The first season of Guild Planet Occupation. After the Soft Launch, we will proceed to the Global Launch, during which the Space Nation DAO will begin to form. Since the very begining, Space Nation has been more than just a game project; it’s a franchise, encompassing multiple games and transmedia projects. Space Nation Online will evolve into more than just a Web3 MMORPG — it will become a virtual economy within this vast virtual universe. We firmly believe that the advent of Web3 technology will make the growth, construction, development, prosperity, and even the external expansion of virtual economies more efficient and stable, with MMORPGs as the best incubator for this. Over the past two years, this direction has been understood by few and agreed upon by even fewer. But as we stand here today, the users who participated in our Closed Betas should have a sense and recognition of this. We eagerly anticipate more people joining us to co-build the first true virtual economy empowered by Web3 technologies and tools in history. Not just to witness, but to co-build. Assemble, Space Nation Captains — on September 27th, board your spaceships and set sail!
