Lots of discussion on the recent SL-8 R/B v COSMOS 2361 conjunction event. Monte Carlo simulation shows ~80m separation distance at the time of closest approach.

Although neither satellite could maneuver, we show that a slight change to the orbit would've reduced the collision risk dramatically.

Current collision risk estimate for the IRAS - GGCE-4 conjunction event is ~ 1 chance in 74, with a separation distance of ~56 feet. The collision probability has been above the 1/100 threshold for multiple days. SpaceNav will provide updates on this event throughout the day.
