These are Saturn's rings, and that dot over there is the distant gas-ice planet Uranus.

For a few minutes over Antarctica, the Sun looked like a bright ring in the sky. This is called an Annular Solar Eclipse. It happens when the Moon passes in front of the Sun, but it’s a bit farther from Earth than usual. Because of that extra distance, the Moon looks slightly smaller and can’t cover the Sun completely. So instead of full darkness, a thin circle of sunlight stays visible around the edge. A clean, glowing ring in the sky. Even above the frozen silence of Antarctica, the motion of space stays right on schedule.

⚡️ This very striking video captures a "dirty thunderstorm" over the erupting Fuego volcano in Guatemala. Dirty thunderstorms are a fairly common phenomenon. The thing is, above the volcano's crater, there forms almost the same atmospheric configuration that causes regular thunderstorms: hot moist air from the volcano's crater rises upward, where it quickly cools, water vapor condenses into droplets, and so on. As these droplets rise, they rub against the air, which leads to their electrification; electrification causes a potential difference, which in turn generates lightning. The difference is that in the case of a volcanic eruption, there is a lot of heat and moisture near the crater, and the convective currents become very intense, so the intensity of the dirty thunderstorm is usually much higher than that of regular thunderstorms. Plus, everything happens concentrated in a relatively small area of space, making the spectacle truly impressive.
