Those people the Army rounded up in 'Close Encounters'? I'm with them. Spacetweep, dove whisperer, nestbox rancher, patron saint of house finches (emeritus)

It's only a matter of time until someone -- @SpaceX, @blueorigin, @NASA ... -- uses this song in a video or ad or something. I mean, "It's in the stars, it's our destiny..."

I don't think I've ever seen the Messier catalog together to scale like this—their apparent/angular size in the sky. Could've used this when I was doing stargazing programs. Cool—M33 is as wide as the Pleiades/M45 (alas too dim to see well). From @apod apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap260514.…

This #NASAWebb Red Spider Nebula image reveals the extent of the spider’s “legs,” the blue lobes, for the first time. Each bubble extends three light-years across, sculpted by gas from the nebula’s center. Credit: ESA, NASA, CSA.

I remember when rock n' roll artists in the late 60s and early 70s were dropping like flies. But, wow, I did not see this coming. Some of them just keep going and going ... youtube.com/watch?v=F-F_oH…

Regarding the recent release of Apollo photos showing strange lights in the sky. 1. These are not lights or any kind of object in the sky. They are blemishes on the film. Apollo photos were captured on 70mm film which were processed in chemicals. During the processing, dirt, dust, scratches or small air bubbles would attach to the film, causing strange looking artifacts. This happens to most photos taken on film, not just Apollo photos, but show up more prominently on Apollo photos due to the black sky, as opposed to a bright colorful scene on earth. 2. These Apollo photo blemishes are not new. They have been known about for nearly 60 years, simply as blemishes on the film, but in today’s idiotic clickbait world have been made out to be something there are not.

@TheAstroN8 I was supposed to go out there for the eclipse two years ago. Never been to Johnson, Starbase. Still need to see some Whooping Cranes at Aransas, too. 😔 I'll get there eventually.

@TheAstroN8 I saw the sad report about a Frontier jet (N646FR) pedestrian accident, but didn't know they had a whole series with birds on their tails. (N646FR has a Scrub Jay.) flyfrontier.com/plane-tails/sk… Have you been ... Frontier birding?

@TheAstroN8 How long has Frontier been putting birds/critters—apparently endagered ones—on their tails? flyfrontier.com/plane-tails/en… Good for them. I'll have to make a day trip out to one of the DC airports to catch some of them. Might be the only chance I get to see a flying Painted Bunting.

Artemis II to the Moon and Back. The white line shows the geocentric coordinates of @NASAArtemis II based on my orbit determination from tracking the spacecraft during the free return trajectory from April 4-10. My upcoming video will let you see the flight play out in 3D.
