tbf, I would guess Ukraine has more valuable targets to strike than that stupid parade in Moscow.

@Hecateon @The_Davos_Man "They bombed a parade" - just that simple snippet alone, without any further context, generates a negative connotation and would be a gift to the Russians from a PR perspective. I see it as a trap and hopefully Ukraine doesn't fall into it.

BREAKING: Russia has had enough. This is a phase transition. I have never seen Russia publicly speak this way before. It's not a bluff. Clearly the USA and EU have not understood anything yet, so this is the only option that preserves security and sovereignty.

⚡️ MoD Russia: Russia declares a ceasefire for May 8-9 in honour of Victory Day and expects Ukraine to follow. ❗️ If Kiev regime attempts to disrupt celebrations, Russia will launch a just retaliatory, massive missile strike on centre of Kiev. In full: t.me/MFARussia/29659

Europeans have a real problem if Iran does escalate and Trump invokes NATO’s article Five. Trump is trying- and succeeding in my view - to make the case to the US public to withdraw from NATO. NATO nations refusing to support the USA after an Iranian act of war kill NATO. 1/2

Top US military general: Since the ceasefire, Iran has fired at commercial vessels 9 times, seized 2 container ships, attacked US forces more than 10 times. “All below the threshold of restarting major combat operations, at this point,” Gen. Dan Caine says.

Bullshit. According to investigations by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz and statements from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, there have been at least five known shipments of stolen Ukrainian grain directed to Israel in 2026 alone. They were unloaded and accepted. The rejection of the Panormitis is the exception, not the rule. For example, earlier in April 2026, a Russian "shadow fleet" vessel named the Abinsk successfully unloaded 44,000 tons of looted wheat at the port of Haifa. Israeli authorities reportedly only responded to Kyiv's requests to intervene after the ship had already unloaded its cargo and departed. Only the last one was rejected. The Panama-flagged bulk carrier PANORMITIS. On Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Israeli grain import company Zenziper (also spelled Tzentsiper) announced it would not unload the ship, which was waiting in Haifa Bay carrying roughly 6,200 tons of wheat and 19,000 tons of barley. Following the importer's refusal, the ship departed Israel's territorial waters.  It was not a proactive rejection out of goodwill. Zenziper backed out due to intense, highly publicized diplomatic and legal pressure from Ukraine, which included: Ukraine's Prosecutor General submitted an official request, backed by a court ruling, asking Israeli authorities to detain the ship and arrest the cargo.  Ukraine threatened a full suite of diplomatic and international legal responses. Furthermore, the European Union began explicitly weighing sanctions against individuals involved in the illegal trade of grain to Haifa.  The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry formally summoned Israeli Ambassador Michael Brodsky to deliver a protest note.  Facing severe legal liability, the threat of international sanctions, and intense media scrutiny, the private importer decided to turn the ship away.

How many of the people who attacked Israel for accepting stolen Ukrainian grain will comment on the fact that the Israeli importer rejected the shipment and sent the ship away? Also, when the ship docks at the port of another country - such as NATO ally Turkey - will Zelensky be as eager to publicly chastise them, or is that privilege reserved for Israel?

Not only that but the results are checked, double checked... And then handed to a random other table of counters for a triple check... All whilst being stared at so closely by the political reps that it borders on creepy

Count staff (and poll clerks) have to deal with purder issues, the same as the local council workers where they can't voice their views. Count staff are so closely observed by representatives of the candidates,or the candidates themselves, so closely at time you can smell them

If Ukraine disrupts Victory Day celebrations "the Russian Armed Forces will launch a retaliatory strike on central Kyiv." As opposed to other strikes that Russia launches every day just because?
Status-6 (War & Military News)@Archer83Able

#BREAKING: Russia announces an unconditional ceasefire with Ukraine on May 8-9. "If Ukraine attempts to implement its criminal plans to disrupt Victory Day celebrations, the Russian Armed Forces will launch a retaliatory strike on central Kyiv," Russian Defense Ministry said in its statement. Moscow also warned Kyiv's civilian population and employees of foreign diplomatic missions to leave the city promptly. "Despite its capabilities, Russia previously refrained from striking central Kyiv for humanitarian reasons," the statement also reads. source: TASS

Saying Serkis Orwelled Orwell is to have not actually read Animal Farm. Whilst the book takes cues from the rise of the USSR, the forward to it from Orwell himself says that his works had been against all forms of totalitarianism and that he considered himself a Social Democrat
