Nisith Pramanik, The Man of the Match of Bengal. When BJP was eyeing to expand its base in Bengal it barely had 2 MPs and a few panchayats and coachbehar was a hard nut to crack due to its demographics but nisith pramanik took the risk of contesting elections against the Trinomul's Electoral machinary and surprised everyone with a thumping victory in coachbehar lok sabha delivering a margin of 50,000+ margin from a demographically cooked constituency. During 2021, his leadership also gave a thumping 7/9 seats from the coachbehar district. But the cards were not really good in 2024, he lost the election to TMC's Jagadish Barma Basunia. It was also a shocking thing for the BJP but the turnaround happened in 2026 when BJP swept Coachbehar district and nisith Pramanik himself won from the mathabhanga assembly constituency by 57,090 votes.
