There are several levels of success to YouTube. 97% of Channels are not in the Partner Program. 90% of Channels never get to 10,000 Subscribers. 88% of videos never get 1000 views. But generally when I talk about building a SUCCESSFUL Channel… I’m talking about a channel that makes money. Money provides you with options. So if something is going to take 10/20/40 hours of your week… And going to demand sacrifices and shifting priorities… I don’t think it’s unreasonable to use the fact that it makes you MONEY… As the bench mark for it being successful, and being worth what you gave up and put into it. I think that content creation is a career for those who want it to be, if they are willing to treat it like one. I don’t think “success” matters or is relevant if you just want to do it for fun and for a hobby. And my content and advice isn’t really at all for people who want to do it as a hobby, since my advice to them begins and ends with “make what your enjoy and don’t worry about it”.
