#Evidence2023 Spotlight: Deo Houndolo's Award-Winning Moment! @deohoun, representing @LEBAROMETRE3, credited humble beginnings for significant achievements. He proudly accepted the Africa Evidence Leadership Award (AELA) as an Evidence Broker from the @Africa_evidence at the #Evidence2023 conference, considering it a pivotal moment for himself and his team. “Every milestone begins with a simple idea. Often nurtured quietly, it grows into something that defines our contribution to strengthening an evaluation culture. Being honoured with the ‘Evidence Broker 2023’ award by AEN at the Evidence 2023 conference marked a defining moment — not only for me, but for the entire Le Barometre team I am proud to represent.” « Chaque étape marquante commence par une simple idée. Souvent cultivée discrètement, elle grandit pour devenir le reflet de notre contribution au renforcement d’une culture de l’évaluation. Être honoré du prix Evidence Broker 2023 par l’AEN lors de la conférence Evidence 2023 a constitué un moment déterminant — non seulement pour moi, mais aussi pour toute l’équipe Le Barometre que j’ai l’honneur de représenter. »  With just 6 days to go, don't miss your chance to join #Evidence2025Online from September 30 to October 2. Evidence in Action: Ashley's Journey to #Evidence2025! @SpantaAshley attended #Evidence2023 in Entebbe, Uganda, gaining insights into evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) in Africa, including the importance of networking, institutionalising evidence use, and localising ownership. He was also inspired by the @AfricaAEYL, where he represented Zimbabwe. He is now passionate about using evidence-driven strategies to reduce poverty and inequality in #Africa, advocating for child rights and welfare. "I had the privilege of attending the Evidence 2023 conference in Entebbe, Uganda, organised by the Africa Evidence Network. The event brought together civil society, government, and academia to advance evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) in Africa. Key takeaways: 1. Networking Matters: A panel emphasised the importance of building alliances among policymakers to frame and communicate evidence effectively. 2. Institutionalising Evidence Use: Discussions highlighted the need to address systemic barriers and create processes that encourage a culture of evidence use. 3. Localisation Agenda: Funders and practitioners shared insights on advancing southern ownership and addressing challenges in localisation. 4. Responsive Evidence Services: Showcased innovative mechanisms supporting policymakers in utilising evidence effectively. Additionally, I had the honour of representing Zimbabwe at the inauguration of the Africa Evidence Youth League. It was inspiring to learn about the vital role of youth in promoting EIDM, as well as advocating for child rights and welfare across the continent. Together, we are pushing toward reducing poverty and inequality in Africa through evidence-driven strategies!" Join the #Evidence2025 movement in Cotonou, Benin, or online, and be part of a groundbreaking event that's shaping #EIDM in #Africa.
