2026 is in the rear view, so why not talk 2027 NFL Draft with a way too early mock draft? Some of these players likely go back, some of them likely declare but either way, this class looks STACKED. Tap in and drop a sub while you’re there, so you get updated on all the scouting reports as they drop 👀 🔗 open.substack.com/pub/sparkscout…

🚨FIRST FILM ROOM OF THE 2027 CYCLE🚨 Took a week off after the draft to recharge a bit, but we are BACK. And what better way to kick off the cycle than by diving headfirst into the Arch Manning discourse? So, I turned on the tape. Does he live up to the hype? Link 👇👇

In “The Pick Is In,” which is currently airing on ESPN, Browns GM Andrew Berry revealed that WR Jordyn Tyson and OTs Spencer Fano and Francis Mauigoa were under consideration with the No. 6 pick before trading back to No. 9 with the Chiefs.

-3 Division titles- 2 with San Fran, 1 with Jacksonville -6 total playoff wins -Turned both franchises from “worst to first” in his second year (3rd/4th place ->division titles) Good consultant pick for the #Browns
Matt Zenitz@mzenitz

The #Browns have added longtime NFL executive Trent Baalke in a consultant-like capacity, a source tells @CBSSports. Was most recently general manager of the #Jaguars from 2021-24. Was also a GM with the #49ers from 2011-16.

As a NFL Draft and Browns guy I’m passing on Sorsby. He had a day 3 grade for me coming into the year, and now he’s going to end up missing some time for his rehab (not to mention the league could get involved, especially if they review his application for the supplemental draft and find it’s because of him gambling on his team, they’ll be all over that) If you told me someone tossed a r5/6 in 27 at it, I wouldn’t hate it, but anything before that is akin to lighting a pick on fire imo.

How Would I Handle Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby in the supplemental draft? 1st ❌ 2nd ❌ 3rd Jets, Browns 4th Let ‘em rip Jets have three 1sts & three 6ths, Browns have three 4ths, I’d have rather had Sorsby in the 4th in a year than Beck or Allar in the 3rd now

Clickbait: The last time a 1st Round supplemental NFL Draft pick was used was 1992 The last 2nd Round pick was 2012 Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby is not garnering a 1st Round pick or 2nd. 3rd you can chat

While Kewan Lacy is my preseason RB1, Florida's Jadan Baugh is his primary challenger w/ the potential to surpass him. Freak athlete at ~6'1", 233. Rumored max speed of almost 22 MPH. Elite reactive instincts to pair w/ springy agility, burst, physicality -- and pass-down value.

@TheRealXavierP @funkyuncle Hate to be the wet blanket, but Kamara himself said back in October he’d just as soon retire before being dealt: nfl.com/news/alvin-kam… I don’t see him coming to Cleveland, if he’s cut, he probably just rides off into the sunset.

Cap isn’t even a huge issue ($21 mil in cap space right now, and $76 mil in cap space next year. Cutting Watson with a post 6/1 cut actually saves $1 mil on the cap with around $35 mil in dead money) But you’re right; figuring out the QB spot is the last infinity stone Berry needs to collect. One angle I’m curious on; Baalke had has some stronger personalities at HC (Harbaugh/Pederson) so I wonder if this is a consultant on how Baalke has handled those in the past and how Berry can apply that to his day to day

@Wrightreportt @SparkScouting I dont understand it. The Browns GM does a good job drafting. What crushed their team was the dumb ass trade for Watson. If they fix their QB issue and cap, they will be dangerous.

It’s something that Andrew Berry has done historically: Tom Telesco, Ryan Grigson, Bob Quinn. It’s more or less him being a younger general manager in the league and leaning on these others to help guide him around pitfalls/contract negotiations/draft picks. Basically building his “tree” so to speak

Two things to note here on Sorsby: - If teams were interested in Sorsby as highly as some think, he would’ve declared rather than go back to school for another season. I’d bet teams throw R5/6 picks at most in the supplemental bids. - The league would heavily consider his application coming in because of him losing eligibility for betting on his team in college. Betting on one’s team in the NFL is a multi-year ban, so they clearly take it seriously, and I’d be shocked they let him in without any form of punishments
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter

Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby, who is under NCAA investigation for making bets via a gambling app, has retained the noted lawyer Jeffrey Kessler to try to regain his college eligibility, sources tell me and @PeteThamel. If Sorsby and Kessler are unsuccessful in finding a path to eligibility, declaring for the NFL’s supplemental draft then would become an option. Sorsby would have until June 30 to declare for the supplemental draft.

The Browns and OT Dawand Jones agreed to a restructured deal for 2026 worth $1.5 million, including $1.145M guaranteed. Jones, who has 20 NFL starts, had been due $3.674M after hitting an escalator. This frees up cash and cap for Cleveland while Jones gets some guaranteed money.
