@SparkyDeviceRN @_radikalek I'm never too strict about terminology since CCD with the word conduction will not include CCM but CIED will. I posted a lot of chest x-ray 🩻 with PMs, ICDs, CRTs and abandoned leads yesterday and today. Now going to post CCM 🩻 . All these 🩻 are intended for docs and techs.

@_radikalek @KostekMilan Thank you for tagging me! We should TOTALLY BE CALLING THESE CCDs! Thats Brilliant! I've always thought like "well technically LVADs are CIEDs if we go by the term". But CCDs would be specifically for the EP part!! 😍 I'm definitely going to look at this!

@SparkyDeviceRN What's the Spanish pronunciation of Brugada or how three Brugada brothers introduce their names? Is it like in this dictionary? A similar word. collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/spa…

To help me remember this syndrome in nursing school I told myself- Brugada sounds like Bruja- which means witch in Spanish- so a salty witch comes and kills you in the middle of the night. That was what helped me remember. Idk if it helps anyone else

@SparkyDeviceRN @Frances98392343 @swahz7788 Today’s reed switches are electric/digital. A stuck reed switch is a thing of the past when they were mechanical/analog switches.

Something happened a few years ago. A patient with Pacemaker-ICD (I don't remember the manufacturer and model) came to the hospital for a routine check-up, asymptomatic. The ICD was off. The patient had not been seen by any doctor, six months before the device check was ok

Myth: A patient said they were told they couldn't go swimming with dolphins since their sonar communication would mess with her ICD. A marine biologist said he has never heard of that. He is guessing the frequency of the ICD is way different than the frequency dolphins use.

@Frances98392343 @swahz7788 @RichClarkFHRS I don't think this was the cause. If there was electrical current- it would have caused an inappropriate shock. My wild never proven theory: Sticky reed switch. He went by a magnet and it turned on the switch, and the switch never went back off, until you reprogrammed it

@Frances98392343 @swahz7788 @RichClarkFHRS Do you remember what manufacturer? I don't think its a Medtronic as that would have toned everyday if the ICD was off (as long as no one touched the alert section)

I love doing V-A conduction testing while I'm doing RV thresholds. Not sure why the last 2 beats retrograde conduction got shorter but still. It's a little secret cool thing I like to do 😊 #EPEEPS #CIEDthings

@SparkyDeviceRN I gave this thingy to one patient with ICD. He felt uncomfortable without it while driving. seat belt cover pad

I've gotten 2 helpful recommendations from patients! 1. Foam donut for SUBQ ICD side sleepers 2. Silicone nipple cover to put on (HEALED) implant site to prevent seat belt/ bra irritation! Do you guys have any helpful suggestions from patients you want to share? #EPEEPS #CIED
