HHS Spartan Softball

HHS 🥎 evened their record to 2-2 tonight with a 14-4 victory over Southern Wells. A. Fleming led the Spartans going 2-3 with 4 RBI while pitching 3 scoreless innings and striking out 6. C. Landrigan was 1-1, with 3 walks and 4 runs. I. Waldron and G. Silkworth both doubled.

An organizational HHS softball meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 15th from 2:50-3:20 in the NGAP community room. Off season practice sessions and any other questions will be discussed. 🥎🥎🥎

Fall softball open facilities will be Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3-4:45pm on the varsity diamond - Starting Tues., Aug. 29 through Oct. 12. All players must have a completed IHSAA physical exam on Final Forms before participating. All HHS students welcome. Coach Clagg 402-1261 🥎

Lady Spartan Softball Camp 2023 💛💙🥎💙💛

The Spartans defeated Wayne Tues. 14-0. Addie Fleming and Ava Mejia combined to hold Wayne to 2 hits. Isabelle Waldron had 3 hits including 2 doubles. Claire Landrigan had 2 hits and scored 4 runs. The team plays Huntington North Thursday at 6:00 for the Sectional championship 🥎

Congratulations to Coach Clagg. 400 over 23 years is 17 wins a season. That is very impressive. Thanks Coach for all your hard work on the field and love for Homestead!

The Lady Spartans opened the Sectional Monday with a 14-1 victory over Southside. Claire Landrigan, Addie Fleming and Gabi Silkworth each had 2 hits. Fleming and Steph Kortokrax combined to hold Southside to 2 hits. The team will play Wayne at 6:00 Tuesday evening 💙💛

The Spartans won 9-0 at Angola Wed. night. Ava Mejia pitched a 4 hitter and struck out 9. Claire Landrigan and Kira Vorpahl each had 3 hits including a double. Mejia added 2 singles and Isabelle Woldran doubled. With this win, Coach Clagg has earned 400 victories w/ HHS 🥎🏆

The Spartans defeated Bishop Luers 9-0 tonight. Ava Mejia struck out 16 and allowed only 2 hits! Claire Landrigan had 3 hits to lead the offense. Isabelle Waldron had 2 hits including a long double. Steph Kortokrax and Sam Bedwell each had 2 RBI, and Addie Fleming scored 3 runs.

The Spartans beat Manchester 11-0 last night. Addie Fleming pitched a 3 hit shutout and struck out 6. Kira Vorpahl had 4 hits and drove in 5 runs. Ellyana Hyder had 2 doubles while Ava Mejia scored 4 runs. The team has now won 8 in a row!! 👏🏼🥎

The Spartans downed Carroll Monday night 2-1, to sweep the 2 game series with the Chargers. Ava Mejia pitched a 4-hitter and struck out 9! Libby Minobe had 3 hits and scored the winning run on Kira Vorpahl’s long double! Solid defense kept Carroll at bay all evening. 🥎🏟️💙💛

The Spartans beat Norwell Friday, 7-6. Addie Fleming battled hard, pitching a complete game. Ava Mejia, Libby Minobe and Izzy Waldron each had 2 hits while Kira Vorpahl had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Mejia drove in the winning run with a long triple. 🤩💙🌮🧢🥎

The Spartans edged Heritage Wed. evening, 6-5. Ava Mejia pitched a complete game giving up only 3 hits and striking out 9. Kira Vorpahl went 3-3 including a double and an RBI. Gabi Silkworth had 2 singles and drove in 2 runs. Libby Minobe scored twice including the winning run 🥎

The Spartan softball team beat Dwenger Monday 12-1. Ava Mejia pitched a 2 hitter, striking out 7. Claire Landrigan had 3 hits while Mejia, Libby Minobe, Addie Fleming and Isabelle Waldron added 2 hits each. Great work ladies 🥎
