@SpartanFourLife It can take over a decade to right the ship, after a coach change. UM after Coach Carr, TN after Fulmer, Neb after Coach Osborne, USC after Coach Carroll, and I believe MSU after Dantonio falls into this group. NIL offers a quick solution, but MSU is last in the Big in NIL.

Great graphs here. MSU with its worst 4 year stretch since the early 2000’s was still the 21st team. Get the football team right and MSU is a top 15 brand. Pat, get the Spartans back to winning immediately. This also shows the power of the Big10 and SEC.

I really didn’t want to say anything, but here we are… all afternoon the guy across the street has been out doing yard work completely shirtless like he’s at the beach, not in the middle of a neighborhood where families are out walking and kids are riding bikes, and I tried to ignore it at first because it’s not my business, but after hours of it it just starts to feel unnecessary and out of place, especially when this isn’t some private backyard tucked away, it’s right out in the open where everyone has to see it, and at that point it stops feeling casual and starts feeling uncomfortable, and yeah maybe some people won’t care, but not everyone wants to deal with that while just going about their day, so I ended up making a formal complaint just so there’s a record, because if it keeps happening it’s only going to make things more awkward for everyone around here.

@Federialheights @TX_Duck_810 Abolishing property taxes doesn't reduce the need for taxes to cover services (police, roads, etc.). So, if you abolished property taxes, it will result in the gov increasing other taxes, usually the sales tax, which shifts the tax burden from the wealthy to the middle class.

@TX_Duck_810 What does paying a mortgage have to do with paying property tax. Property tax should be abolished, regardless of having a mortgage. People could pay off their home and then decide to take out a HELOC loan. Should they then start paying taxes again.

I think, regardless of age, once you pay off your house you shouldn’t pay anymore property tax, why do I need to perpetually “rent” my own property from the government that I paid for 30 years to own.

I don’t mind moving from a property tax model to a services model. It will single out expenses and people will be more interested in results when they have to pay for it directly.

The newer generations do not comprehend the thousands of dollars that we were forced to pay for our "future security," We were promised this from the first day that we started work. In 1984, the government began taxing Social Security. That was never the intent. We could have easily put the same money into other markets, and made substantially more for retirement. When we bought our homes 30+ years ago, nobody told us that we would pay taxes on that house forever. At increased valuation rates even though the house had not been sold! My house was bought for $46k. I now pay for a $243K valuation. Where is the fairness in that?

These anti boomers are pissing me off now. They've been at it all day. I paid for my home. Period. I will either sell, or will it to my children. Period. I paid into Social Security for over 50 years. That is my money. Period. I paid into Medicare for over 50 years. My money. Period. I paid into investments, and savings. My money. Period. Things that should be included: 🚨 - Being 60 or older. - Living in the home as a primary residence. - Meeting residency/time-in-home requirements. Supporters say: 🚨 - Seniors on fixed incomes are getting priced out by rising assessments. - People who already “paid off” homes still face perpetual taxes. - It helps seniors age in place instead of being forced to move. - It could reduce senior homelessness and displacement.

My dad retired at 59 I will not He had a pension. I have a 401k I can barely fund. He bought his house at 28. I can't touch a down payment at 30. He paid $90 a month for health insurance. I pay $430. At dinner he told me I need to be smarter with money. I nodded. Didn't tell him his entire life was built on an economy that no longer exists. Didn't tell him my generation is paying for his Social Security while ours gets gutted. Didn't tell him the ladder he climbed got pulled up right after him. Just passed the potatoes.
