The way he says "*Mercer*" totally has "Dinkleberg!" energy.

In a world of dragons, chimeric beasts, and fiends, I feel it's always best to include real-world animals to balance the scales. Pleistocene animals exist in Hestia alongside familiar and fantastical beasts. That includes Smilodon fatalis. (Credit goes to @TalesofKaimere)

So, I know many of you are probably wondering: "Why give this random novella a shot?" While I know the story might not be for everyone, I will do my best to explain my philosophy and how this would translate into a story that you would enjoy.
