The solution is not hatred toward poor people trying to survive. The solution is better governance, stronger economies, border management, skills development, and regional cooperation so African countries can all grow together instead of competing in anger. Let South Africa also travel far and wide as well as other Africans.

Many foreign nationals actually create businesses, employ locals, pay taxes through VAT, and contribute to the economy. If someone is working legally and adding value, the focus should be on growing the economy and creating more opportunities for everyone, not turning Africans against each other. A struggling citizen in South Africa has more in common with a struggling Zimbabwean, Nigerian, or Kenyan worker than with the politicians and elites benefiting from division.

@Spergion @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese The unemployment rate is high. Why would we support giving away jobs to any foreign national African or otherwise a job that can be done by citizens?

@somtsheu @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese Low hanging ones means those weak and poor neighbors of yours? The one you are asking to go fix a country ? Kicking a can down the road, when you know no one will pick it up. Other countries actually deport illegals regardless of nationality, here we see sad scenes of vigilantes.

@Spergion @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese In any wrong doing everyone is at fault, except children and cognitively-challenged. The fact that corrupt SAn gov issued them with documents they weren’t supposed to doesn’t mean SAns must/will accept, so they will fight everyone involved starting with the low hanging fruit.

@Mnadi33 @Cfc_Ayanda @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese Yes but not the cause. If I am your neighbor and have no papers for example, how am I personally responsible for any disadvantage you have. You may not know about my status and have no locus standi to know or ask me about it. Leave it to the authorities not vigilantes.

@Spergion @Cfc_Ayanda @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese First of all, employing foreigners as waiters in South Africa does not constitute a scarce skill occupation. In many cases this practice is in direct conflict with the country’s labour and immigration laws as well as the constitutional framework governing lawful employment.

@Lebone281 @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese Why are you blaming bad Chinese food from Zimbabweans. What is exactly is the problem now? Bad food or illegal immigration. Why not complain to the Chinese restaurant owner and have them employ a qualified Chinese chef.

@Spergion @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese Most of you have this false belief that we don't travel. Through my travel years, had enjoyed interacting with locals and experiencing their hospitality. Here at home, I can't even order proper Chinese meals as cooks sre Zimbabwean who cooks crap.

@Spergion @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese Now look this situation from a SAfrican angle.Keeping in mind the high unemployment rate. And the fact that no foreign national should be working on a different visa but a skilled one. And if they had a skilled visa, they would be working proper white collar jobs.If not its illegal

@Cfc_Ayanda @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese Seems like you are blaming the foreigner on a systemic issue. A waiter working on minimum wage doesn’t have a potential to make you starve. According to South African law, that waiter’s employer must demonstrate that Ragnarson from Congo has no rival in South Africa.

The solution to unemployment is not fight for crumbs with poor immigrants. The solution is tighten immigration control and ensure the influx is tamed. The reason I brought examples of those countries is because they have a grip on immigration and foreigners have a significant role in building those nations.

@proBlackSA @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese What potential? No one is competing with you, we only wish you follow your own laws that you want foreigners to follow. A country that has been traumatized by racial segregation and oppression needs healing.

@3linam_ @Malatjie_ @JacintaNgobese Why do you assume they haven’t? I have friends from South Africa in Nairobi and have had them even in deep in my home town. You got to travel outside your province and remove your gaze from that foreigner you hate.

@Judaeda3 That’s not how the world works. If I want rands, euros or dollars I can get them in Nairobi. When we say these xenophobes are uneducated, they think we are being disrespectful. Arent Basotho part of South African people? You took that imaginary boundary serious.

@AmukelaniMoyani But even citizen don’t always respect their own laws. The world over, it is common and it should not be emotional. You don’t take personal. This is too much violence for a lack of permit.

@mgiba_jeff @AmukelaniMoyani They will end up on your streets. They are now reduced to poverty and become a burden to the society. If the only law they broke was not to have a permit , then you have used extreme force to achieve a pyrrhic victory.
