It’s not just about record. Isles have won a couple games since the break they had no business winning. And they’ve been mostly outplayed in every game except against Toronto and Calgary, and even Calgary we tried our best to piss it away. Bottom line is we’re not playing good hockey down the stretch. Yes we are limping. Yes other teams may appear to also be limping. But we need to flip the switch before one of them do. We cannot afford to limp with this many teams being competitive for the playoffs.

@SperryTime The limping in narrative is so dumb becuase in their last ten the islanders have been better than the Red Wings, Bruins (who suck on the road btw), MTL, and the Pens. They’re not limping, you’re just being hypercritical. If any team is limping it’s Detroit.

It’s just so frustrating that after each goal the isles go into “don’t lose” mode. And then the game is tied and they’re desperately telling Ottawa “please let’s just go to OT” Just such a bad way to play hockey. That lost has a high likelihood of ending our season.

Leddy would be a worse version of George right now. But regardless the soucy move is looking pretty bad. Was talking to my brother, who’s a rangers fan, and he was saying that him and his buddies were all joking that they couldn’t believe they got a 3rd for him. The worst part is that soucy and mayfield just can’t play together. It’s so bad. They make each other worse.

Leddy for free would easily have been the better move than giving the Rangers a third for the worst dman on their roster.

Pelech and TDA probably had their worst game of the season. We got absolutely bullied physically. Sens are a pretty dirty team. They have no problem pushing the envelope, especially when they know the other teams PP won’t even be able to gain the zone. Note: both the second and third OTT goals were the result of them cross checking our netfront defender in the back. That’s playoff type hockey though. They’re gonna take that chance. FWIW I don’t think either were necessarily penalties. Taking our foot off the gas after both go ahead goals is absolutely criminal. And that’s on Roy. Playing the third period with zero pace and zero urgency against a team on a B2B just cannot be justified. The miscues in the dzone. The miscue that led to the SHG. These are mistakes that just can’t happen in such an important game at this point of the season. Sorokin did everything and then some to make up for those mistakes. He deserved better. Now that the negatives are out of the way. Let’s all take a deep breath. 1 point out. 13 games to play. We play OTT and MTL twice. We play Columbus on Sunday night. Need to reset for this weekend and come out with at least 3 points. We still essentially control our own destiny. Team has shown resilience and bounce back all year. It’s gonna be a fun ride.
