2026 is definitely gonna change some things for live content creators who rely on ad revenue and brand deals. Some talents are starting to notice it, while others have seen the writing on the wall for years. Is the $1/CCV/H model going away?

@EsfandTV People comparing the viewcount and the chatlist doesnt seem to know that those are two completely different systems and would probably never be in sync.

This whole “Twitch isn’t counting lurkers as viewers anymore” narrative is so unbelievably stupid. Literally in the entire history of data that we have to pull from…. only a fraction of your viewers, if you’re lucky we’re talking MAYBE 5%-10%, are actively going to be chatting in your stream. Unless they lost like 95% of their audience overnight, the data does not back up anyone’s claim that this is happening.

@EsfandTV A phone is plenty enough for like 90% of Irl streamers. Backpack is mostly only useful if you already have succeeded and can afford the upgrades for reliability and ease of use. Generally when you have a cameraman.

I say this as the first IRL streamer with a “$30,000 IRL backpack” back in 2021. I have gone through ALL of the research, development, bugs, growing pains, every inch of every step along the way over the last 5 years that I have had it. It is completely unnecessary for 99.9% of streamers. Even for me, I bought it for one specific use case, and that was during the first season of Tailgate Tour BEFORE several other options with the features that matter even existed. Otherwise, you do not need to buy these massive setups. There are, and I mean this, probably single digit IRL streamers who would ever require that setup and it comes with some hurdles and drawbacks that are completely avoidable. Save yourself the trouble and get either the much smaller roughly $3,000 setup, or an option that hasn’t existed/been feasible until very recently… get an iPhone to stream off of and hotspot to an Android phone or some other hotspot for a 2 signal bonded connection that will work in a lot of environments. Cell phone has gotten so much better recently, it’s kind of come full circle to the days of 2017 IRL streaming.

Who wrote this? Literally the first two lines are in direct conflict of each other. The whole point of putting your socials in your bio is to promote them. That's like, the sole purpose.

I think other Black Shark phone coolers should work as well but can’t say for sure since I don’t own any other models

Forgot to say but this is implemented in Moblin now. So if you have a black shark magnetic 4 Pro phone cooler you can connect it to Moblin in the settings and it will do its best to adjust power use and fan noise to the phones needs and to not be too loud.

@trigg445 @bbjessTTV @kick I was surprised by this and checked. The full discord post says its deprecating old ios Versions. So its only removed for Iphone X and older. I would reccomend Moblin for iphone users tho! Completely Free and open source.

@HarleyJ Over the last half a year Ive felt that the site has become slower and slower yea. it feels like the front-end is more bloated somehow. I guess that can happen if they keep adding features, without budget for optimizing maybe?

Is it just me, or has Twitch's website felt more sluggish in recent weeks? • Its harder to reduce the delay than it used to be. • Streams lag out when anyone gifts a large amount of subs. • VOD's can't download fast enough when watching on x2 speed, resulting in buffering.

Can also turn on and off the LED lights of the fan. Initial thought was to have chat-alerts change the light, but then i realized that the cooler is basically a 40 dollar tally light for phones! Would love to get that into Moblin somehow!

I reverse engineered some cheap (and surprisingly well designed) Phone cooler. Hope to be able to implement the library into Moblin soon so that people can get smarter control of their phone-streams.

@Steggy Alienating a whole category of streamers from their own convention doesn't sound like a good idea. And how would you enforce this even? Ban phones?

If they banned IRL streams from TwitchCon I’d be 100% ok with it Or limit it to Twitch ambassadors or something. The amount of bad actors who have come into TwitchCon live to be a menace to farm views is such a buzzkill from an otherwise awesome weekend.
