@Splurges82 @NoMansSky CGI is not AI, CGI is similar to digital art, you need a lot of skill for CGI to look good, all you need for AI is a simple understanding of human language

@eyebrows360 @NoMansSky Remotely, yes. CGI and AI operate off of advanced computer coding. AI is not generating anything on its own. Still relies on human interaction to complete the task. It's just much easier. However, CGI is much easier to produce now than 30 years ago. Ethics is another issue.

@nastyriff @NoMansSky If you use a tool that say, converts what you created into a style resembling Van Gogh, is that not "stealing" his style? You didn't get permission. You applied a filter. AI is a short cut, but the result is the same. If the database did knowingly steal, that's another issue.

@Splurges82 @NoMansSky CGI is not a form of AI, and you expose your total lack of SME by saying so. Typing "computer, make art for me" is entirely different from using a creative toolset that incorporates some machine learning data, that runs locally without stealing someone else's art.

Now, every time someone spots it, they hide it or change the content enough to make it seem less a part of the process. Hence, the articles about companies only using it as "place holders." 😂

That's what I mean. It's ok, as long as it's not your job. I know you don't intend that, but it's happening, too.

@Amaryllis_Mln @NoMansSky Plus, it is absolutely not the same skill. The method of painting digitally is different. Application of pressure, environment, gravity even changes how the art comes out... Plus, there is no delete or undo button in "real" painting.

@Amaryllis_Mln @NoMansSky Sooo, you don't have to buy anything to produce AI art? Computer, tablet or phone? AI subscription? You're only describing a difference in effort. If it takes me 50 prompts to achieve the imagery I envisioned in my head, is that not art?

@Amaryllis_Mln @NoMansSky Also, sometimes that's the nature of evolution. Faster isn't always better, but if it's similar and accessible, then it's marketable. I think it'll level out eventually, but for now it's the new normal. Still can't tell if this image is AI or not though, right? 💁🏻‍♂️
