Most sideline officials are part-timers who still need to work full-time hours outside of rugby league but still train and be available same as the full-time guys

With you there 100% there’s also a significant problem with the officiating coaching staff and the way we’ve treated the legends. There’s no excuse for people like Cecchin and Cummins not to be involved still coaching. But the NRL burnt them out to a point where they don’t wanna ref anymore.
