Whatever happens tonight Hornets fans just know that this season, playoffs or not, has been a major success. Excellent moves were made, progress was made, the team was evaluated, the rookies (at least 3 of the 4) seem like they'll contribute at the league level for a long time. This fanbase likes to very quickly get down on itself but this is probably the best the outlook of our franchise has been in my life time. We have 2 first round picks that will be between 13-18 no matter what, in a loaded draft class. We have 8 first round picks in the 5 years AFTER this upcoming class. We have movable salary, a ton of picks, and a ton of different ways the team can improve. Just be happy with where we've come since last year, and enjoy the moment. Regardless of a Hornets win or loss tonight, we also are heavily cheering for Golden State, since the Suns losing would either give us 13 and 17/18 (CHA loss) or 14 and 17 (CHA win).

@J_Hooper_ Honestly i think it was right decision play the hot hand and give the kid a break he’s obviously hitting the rookie wall. Kon is ultimately competitor I’m sure it killed him not being out there but you gotta sacrifice little to achieve same goal of team success.

There are some things to clean up on, yes, and there is work to do still, but the Hornets should be proud of this. They won less than 20 games last year, and fell outside of the top 3 at the Draft Lottery. Now they stand one win from their first playoff appearance in a decade.

It's fitting that the Miami Heat were the last team the Hornets faced in the postseason. Now, on the doorstep of what feels like a new era of Hornets basketball, a familiar rival is at the threshold. I need this win. More than I've needed any win in 10 years. Protect the Hive.

The scenarios are simple. Charlotte wins tonight and they host Miami in the 9/10 play-in game at The Spectrum Center. A Hornets loss coupled with a Heat win send Charlotte to Miami as the 10 seed. A Miami loss and Charlotte holds onto 9 no matter their result versus NY.

The Charlotte Hornets are not quite there yet. Still missing a key piece and still too young and inexperienced. This was a good year. Gave us fans some fun basketball to watch and we see the potential. But, it's not our time to shine yet. I trust Jeff the Chef and his team to make the right moves this offseason. If we win in the play-in and make the playoffs great. Get valuable experience. If not, it's okay we're on the right path to success.
