The Sarnia Sting are mourning the loss of George Heath, former sports broadcaster and voice of the Sarnia Sting. George was best known as the "Voice" of the Sarnia Bees, the Petrolia Squires (during their Allan Cup years) and the Sarnia Sting.

Flags start the season with an overtime loss on the road in Wheatley. Dylan Dupuis had 2 goals and Landon Marcy had 1. John Chartrand took the loss with 31 saves on 35 shots. Flags host Walpole Island Wild for the home opener on Sat. Sept. 14 at 7:30pm.
