NEW: Father who admitted to shooting his 21-year-old son on a Ring camera, sentenced to 12 years in prison. David Contreras pleaded guilty to manslaughter. According to records, the Florida family had returned from a trip when David Contreras got into an argument with his son Eric. David claimed the shooting was self-defense and said he was "abused" by his son for years. Prosecutors disagreed. Friends of Eric said they were prevented from attending his funeral. "It wasn’t until everyone realized that Eric's own family was defending his murderer that we were able to start grieving properly," a friend said. "For the pain that you caused each and every one of them. And continue to cause them because of your selfishness," Judge David Young said. "And your family selfishness and not letting them grieve. Not letting them attend a memorial service, a mass, which so deeply important to those of their faith." "I am the one that has to live with it, and I have accepted it," Contreras replied.
