🔴🟡🟢 Roundtable members, join us next week for One Topic: Client Red Flags & Green Flags (and yes… those yellow “hmm not sure” flags too). Let’s talk dream clients vs. draining clients—how to spot them, what to do about them, and maybe even share a few stories along the way.

@AlexDamsker Do not underestimate your responsibility when you hit sales tax nexus and the cost of reporting in every state you hit that nexus!

Unbelievable that the American anthem is being booed - AGAIN - by a bunch of loser Canadians at the Vancouver Canucks game. Absolutely classless. This country bears no resemblance to the one I once knew 🤦‍♀️

@BillKinneyCPA Knowing that these updates roll out in phases maybe I have not seen this yet but I would love to connect with you and see the issue. Maybe I can help. In my system I still see bundles, they are still in the API too. I use them for a lot of clients so I am concerned.

Background: Intuit rug pulled bundles from invoices on QBO right as tax season was starting. A feature we heavily used to hide time detail and subtotal bundles. We found a workaround thanks to RightTool, which has a button on the invoice screen to delete but not unlink all linked lines. That way the transactions still get marked as billed and we don't have the show the client details. But what hacky bullshit.

Letter to the Intuit Office of the President. I'm so over their bullshit. Hi xxxxx, This situation is incredibly frustrating. One of our key issues with QBO is the complete lack of transparency around update rollouts. If we had advance notice of this change, we could have prepared accordingly. Instead, we experience sudden removals of heavily used features—right in the middle of our busiest season—while customer service is left in the dark. As a result, we waste valuable hours troubleshooting when we should be focusing on client work. Subtotals aren’t a viable workaround when we need to hide transaction details from clients. We’ve found another workaround—deleting but not unlinking time-based transactions—which at least marks the unbilled items as billed. It’s awkward, and we have to rely on a third-party tool to do it in bulk. It’s telling that RightTool has developed functionality that outpaces QBO’s own offerings—your product development team should take a serious look at what they’re doing. Our firm has been an Intuit customer for over 30 years, using Lacerte since before Intuit acquired it, as well as QuickBooks Desktop and now Online. I estimate we’ve spent over $750,000 on Intuit software in the past 20 years. Between this incident, declining performance in Lacerte, poor customer service, abrupt removal of key features without warning, and lack of communication on critical software changes, we’re actively evaluating alternative providers. And that doesn't even get into how you actively market overlapping products and services to our mutal Quickbooks clients and some of the other questionable business practices of your firm. Given our experience, I cannot in good faith recommend QBO to any of my clients at this time. Thanks for listening.

Hey @elonmusk, appreciate your efforts in exposing wasteful government spending! Curious—of the waste the Doge team uncovers, how much money is already gone vs. how much has actually been stopped and could help pay down our national debt? Would love your thoughts! 🚀🐕💰

@Spotycus @elonmusk So you are giving a pass on a publicly announced potential for a hack because it’s trump/elon doing it for the government?

@jablesspat @elonmusk How many times have government agencies been hacked? Compare the number of compromised records against your example above. People are worried about their personal info that has already been compromised by our government.
