Josiah Fulton, one of Peoria’s original settlers, arrived here with his family from St. Louis in 1819. A farmer, Josiah owned and farmed many different plots of land—including the ground where the Peoria courthouse stands.

Sitting atop a knoll in the northeast corner of the cemetery, the Springdale Mausoleum is the cemetery’s crown jewel—constructed of granite and marble with bronze accents. Opened in 1929, it’s home to 1,100 crypts. Call our office at (309) 681-1400 to learn more.
