World book Day! 📚❤️ Woodpeckers look amazing in their world book day costumes as different characters, can you tell who we are dressed as?

And just like that we have a new building!! Still lots to do before we can officially move in, but we are one step closer! ☺️

Very exciting day during half term today - our new ERF building is being delivered! Here's section 1; only another 15 sections to go! Thank goodness the weather has been kind!

A lovely afternoon with ‘Trees for Spondon’, planting 130 saplings on our Forest School site 🌳

The local councillors & neighbourhood board were so grateful for our help decorating the Christmas tree by Spondon library on Sitwell Street today. Twelve children, who were all reading champions, were chosen to hang decorations made by each class. The tree looks beautiful! 🎄🥰

The choir were amazing singing at Asda this afternoon! Thank you to those who came to hear them! ☺️🎵🎶

We are so proud of how our choir sang at Aspen Court Care Home yesterday. The residents were treated to many festive songs to make them feel ready for Christmas! 🎄⛄A huge well done to Miss Allen for leading our choir. 😊🎶

What a lovely visit to the local cafe we had this morning during our community visits sessions - lots of fantastic communication and interaction! Who could say no to more cake?!☕️🧁

Look who visited Springfield today!! Pudsey visited the classrooms and even got to play drums in Rock Steady! We are really excited for #ChildrenInNeed tomorrow

The fire tornado was a particular favourite amongst our pupils, as you can see from their faces…

Y5/6 had a fantastic day at Magna yesterday. We were immersed into the 4 elements: Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and also had an excellent time learning about light in our workshop.

The big dragon we made in Woodpeckers from painted boxes and mark making has found his way onto our ceiling. He is going to be joined by shields we made and is decorated with the adjectives we used to describe him in English

We were so excited to see everyone back at school today and are really looking forward to another great school year! ☺️ #firstdayofschool

In Geography Class 9 have been looking at China and Shanghai, so this afternoon we tasted some different Chinese foods and tried using chopsticks.

Yesterday Class 9 enjoyed cutting up fruit, using the blender and making and tasting our own fruit smoothies. We all had a go at cutting and blending. It was a great afternoon.

Today class 9 and 10 had lots of fun at chaddesden park ☀️🛝😀

A huge well done to Class 8 for all the hard work they put into designing and making the cake! It looked amazing and tasted even better! Go Springfield!
