It is with immense sadness that we announce the closure of VAULT Festival and the cancellation of plans for our new London home, after failing to secure the funding required to continue. 🧵 1/8

@lyngardner Some simple things could help - uploading budget, partner and timeline spreadsheets to reduce the time it takes to use Grantium. Bigger things - lighter touch core funding to help non-NPOs sustain themselves. More industry specific funds like Supporting Grassroots Live Music

Let's talk about ACE project funding. Is it fit for purpose? Or is it broken as many people tell me. What would make it better? More money obviously. But what else. If you don't secure what is the impact on careers. Have you been affected? DM me if you want to talk about this.

Friends & optimists, many artists mourning the loss of Vault Fest this year. While all models have cons, if we were founding a new work festival to plug the gap, wanting to re-write the rules - where should we start? What does the new work fest we all deserve look like to you?

@cath_a_james @mrdavebyrne @somekindofchaos We did run a small try out of profit share across multiple companies at Brighton fringe for a couple of years, work included Ellie Dillon Reams’ Honey bee. Very well received by artists but hard to ultimately manage under the umbrella of BF as we only had one brochure listing
