Spurs are down by 10 in the 4th trying to clinch a playoff birth but it's not looking good. Too many rushed shots, not enough rebounds and they can seem to catch any breaks every time Collin Gillespie puts up a shot.

Devin Vassell is not happy with this call and even more disappointed that the coaching staff decided not to challenge his “foul” against Devin Booker.

If you want to know why the Spurs are down at the half, the first thing to consider is that the Suns are on fire, shooting 54.3% from the field and a lethal 50% (8/16) from deep. The Spurs are struggling at 43.2% overall and just 31.3% from three. Wemby has 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist at the break. He's also shooting an efficient 71.4% (5/7), but the rest of the team hasn't found their rhythm at all. In fact, more than a handful of Spurs layups and shots have rolled out after looking like sure things. Simply put, Phoenix is winning the physical battle and they're leading 24–15 in total rebounds. The Spurs have held Devin Booker to just 6 points so far but Collin Gillespie has stepped up as the surprise leader for Phoenix with 17 points.

Late Scratch: Stephon Castle was an extremely late addition to the injury report. He actually went through pre-game warmups at the Frost Bank Center, but the team decided to sidelined him after some hip tightness didn't subside. With Castle out, Devin Vassell is expected to return to the starting rotation.

Was this the injury that caused Cade’s lung to partially collapse?

Prayers up for Cade 🙏🏼. This is a terrifying condition where air leaks into the space between the lung and the chest wall, creating so much pressure that it causes the lung to collapse. He may be out for weeks and dotors will also likely forbid air travel for at least 3 weeks AFTER his lung is healed since cabin pressure changes could prove to be fatal.

Two things to consider with this great question: 1- If Rich Paul is still his agent and hasn't sold his agency by then, then he will feel betrayed by the Spurs because he is big reason Fox is in San Antonio. 2- By the time of the draft his contract would still have a year left and would be out of reach for the expansion teams anyway. So yeah, they'd pass.

In an effort to drive up the bid and value prices for the two new expansion franchises (currently rumored to be in the seven to ten billion dollar range), the @NBA has floated the idea of loosening expansion draft rules. According to two separate sources, one scenario being considered would allow current teams to protect ONLY 6 OR 7 players on their rosters instead of the 8 currently allowed by existing rules. The potential move would allow the two new teams to be more competitive sooner and give each of the current 30 team owners a bigger share of profits from the franchise sales fees. Which 6 or 7 Spurs players would protect if faced with this new possibility?
