@Kaosupassara9 Most importantly, it really needs to lose weight. Reducing the physical burden on its body will be much more beneficial for its recovery.

P’Kao, I’m a vet and I saw your post on Weibo.
Considering its breed and age, the first thing we need to rule out is hindlimb weakness caused by orthopedic pain. We also need to check whether there are any signs of generalized weakness.
@Kaosupassara9 Post-treatment management will also be very important, such as acupuncture, laser therapy, shockwave therapy, underwater treadmill therapy, swimming rehabilitation, and appropriate exercise training to strengthen its core muscles.
@Kaosupassara9 I spoke with several veterinary neurologists today. Their suggestion is to decide on the next treatment plan based on the MRI results. Since we caught it early and its gait doesn’t look too bad in the video, the overall prognosis is quite good.
I would recommend getting an MRI as soon as possible for further evaluation. In the meantime, strict cage rest and restricted activity are necessary. Please do not massage it or stretch its hindlimbs.
As a vet, I really want to give P Kao a big thumbs-up👍. She always shares the right message about pet care, and responsible owners like her are every vet’s favorite. I’ll keep learning and wish every animal I treat good health.😽😽😽@Kaosupassara9
