Karnataka model of splitting the term of the Chief Minister may be a way to resolve the present impasse.

I compliment the Mathrubhumi anchor of the discussion at 8 PM tonight for bringing the issue of the crisis in Gulf and the need for preparation to deal with the looming crisis to the forefront. Repeating charges against Trump Was futile, she realised. Fazal Gafoor also supported

My latest #TharoorThink column in the @IndianExpress explains why I have not joined the widespread liberal critique of the Indian government’s “moral failure” to condemn the US-Israeli attack on Iran. India has too much at stake to indulge in the morally gratifying grandstanding that could have placed vital national interests at risk. As the late Kofi Annan advised me, citing a Ghanaian proverb: “never hit a man on the head when you have your fingers between his teeth!”

@prajeswari @alangemmell A fascinating glimpse of the past at Colombo. That was a highlight of my trip to Colombo essentially to spend some time with my son Sree. Thank you Rajeswari for remembering me!

India’s silence on the current war is not wise. It is not a distant war between traditional enemies. The war has come to our door step when Iran has declared that it would avenge the US by attacking Gulf states. We should demand an immediate ceasefire.

Sad to hear of the sad demise of Dr. KN Panicker. I had the privilege of succeeding him as the Vice Chairman of the Kerala State Higher Education Council. What I did was to follow up on what he had started and then built on them. He was a great scholar.

Iran appears to have rejected a ceasefire proposal from US and Israel. If this is true, it is a short sighted decision. Take a break and review the situation.

We should drive home to the US, Israel and Iran that any attack on the GCC countries is an attack on India as the region holds 9 million Indian nationals. Whatever may be their objectives, they should refrain from attacking GCC countries. We should also press for a ceasefire.

Why is India not demanding a ceasefire to save the Gulf region ? We are friendly to all the combatants!

I think that the Carney visit will cover much more than terrorism and trade. He is out on a mission to find intermediate powers to join him to attain strategic autonomy of resources vis a vis the US and to trudge a new path. We should find common cause with him.
