March 2026 feels nothing short of surreal. Life handed me its greatest gift on 18th March, when I stepped into motherhood. And just a week later came a moment every journalist dreams of, winning a #RamnathGoenkaAward, and I was fortunate to receive not one but two in a single edition, something I’m still trying to take in. I was honoured in Investigative Reporting for Operation Illegals, a story that brought to light the journeys of illegal migrants risking their lives to cross the Indo-Bangladesh border in search of stability. I was also recognised in Civic Journalism for our report on how unregulated water usage in Bawana is deepening Delhi’s water crisis. I’m deeply grateful to the #IndiaTodayGroup & my editors, who constantly push me to dig deeper and tell stories that many would rather keep buried. For now, I’ll be taking a short pause, to celebrate, to soak it all in, and to nurture my life’s greatest award, my baby girl. But I’ll be back soon, with renewed purpose and responsibility. Because beyond any award, I owe it to my country and its people to keep telling stories that truly matter. ✨

The Koh-i-Noor diamond was owned by one 'Shudra' Dynasty, Kakatiyas, ruling Warangal in the 12th-14th centuries. Extracted from the Kollur mine, it was likely installed as the left eye of the Goddess Bhadrakali at Bhadrakali Temple. It was taken by Delhi Sultanate forces in 1310.

A British doctor stranded in India for 4 months over an anti-BJP FB post finally boarded a flight home Tuesday. Before leaving, he spoke to @thaver_mohamed, looking visibly relieved, but still asking the Q that has haunted him: "How can a 12-word post attract an FIR & LOC?" Rs 50 lakh in legal fees. 4 months away from his children. Nearly lost his job. Read his story: indianexpress.com/article/cities… via @IndianExpress

Will someone please inform the Indian government and its functionaries that these PR campaigns demonstrating how austere they’re being, is just downright embarrassing. I’ve seen at least 4 government ministers being filmed driving along in one or two cars. All it tells us is how abnormal their behavior has been for all these years because they would have been perfectly fine in one or two cars. To turn this into “news” is just so narcissistic.

In his first speech as Tamil Nadu chief minister, Vijay said that he grew up in poverty, and that he even knows what hunger is. It's bullshit because he was my classmate in the third standard in Loyola School. His father was a filmmaker who set up his son for a career in films. It is possible that like most filmmakers his father may have had periods of financial strife but that's not the same as Tamil-grade poverty. A lot of affluent boys confuse being broke with poverty. Two very different things.

Muthu ji, your political views are your own - but please do speed up the returns on my investments. 😃
Muthukrishnan Dhandapani@dmuthuk

Not going to share any personal details. Just want to highlight how perception is different from reality. This is not to support any political party or leader. Want to let you know things are not as they look. In 2013, my client who was professionally working for Rahul Gandhi suggested my name to him to handle his mutual fund investments. From 2013, when UPA 2 was in power to till date when Vijay was sworn in with Congress support, Rahul continues to be my client for mutual fund investments. We have exchanged many mails and has spoken over phone lot of times. And as you are aware, I've been a strong Modi supporter from 2014 to 2024. Never once Rahul or his office staff brought that subject to me. I believe my tweets are regularly seen by his staff. They clearly differentiate between my professional service and political beliefs. And in every single conversation I've with Rahul, he addresses me with respect and never behaved in any haughty manner. Despite knowing my BJP support, he took my input few years ago for choosing a key professional . This post may lead to Rahul terminating our professional relationship. That's ok. Everything should end one day. Wanted to post this to show how main stream media and IT cells of parties can make someone look completely inhuman. I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with. Don't go by media or IT cells - for any party that matter.

Months of hectic campaigns, roadshows, padyatras, press conferences, no sleep, crazy weather & no days off. Met many former colleagues from Delhi, made new friends & had a wonderful time covering this historic election from my beloved state. For now, it’s curtains down.

Disturbing news from Mahishi, Saharsa, Bihar. Aound 800 children from three schools reportedly fell critically ill after consuming a mid-day meal in which a dead snake was allegedly found. All three schools were receiving food from the same NGO. This is happening right outside the famous Tara Mandir.

In 2018, a state armed police officer posted as Suvendu Adhikari’s bodyguard allegedly died by suicide using his service revolver. In 2021, the WB CID began probing the case after TMC alleged the death had been passed off as suicide. The 2013, 2018 and 2026 incidents mark three cases of unnatural deaths involving personnel associated with Suvendu Adhikari.

One #KeralaStory from the recent election results that communalists should note: a Muslim majority constituency, Thavanur, elected a Christian, VS Joy; a Hindu majority constituency, Kalamassery, elected a Muslim. VE Abdul Gafoor; and a Christian majority constituency, Kochi, elected a Muslim, Muhammed Shiyas. Despite some influence from the national trends in favour of identity politics, Kerala remains a model of communal harmony, a state where people see human beings first and caste or religion later @incindia @inckerala
